Later this month, the City of Toronto and the TTC will host two public information centres as part of the environmental assessment protection for the next Transit City light rail transit line.
The Jane LRT will travel along Jane Street and Steeles Avenue West from Jane Station on the 2 Bloor — Danforth subway to the future Steeles West station when the TTC extends 1 Yonge — University — Spadina subway line northwestward beyond Downsview Station. The line will also connect with the proposed Eglinton Crosstown and Etobicoke Finch West LRT lines.
The City and TTC are proposing to replace the current bus service along Jane Street with electric-powered light rail transit vehicles. The LRT vehicles would operate on the surface of the street, but in their own lanes, separate from all other traffic.
You can review the plans for the proposed line and comment on the proposals at two information meetings taking place from 6:30 until 9 p.m.:
