Brampton Transit revises service,
September 2



New express routes from Bramalea to York University and Toronto Pearson Air Terminal are the highlights of Brampton Transit’s fall schedule, which starts on Tuesday, September 2.


Specifically, Brampton Transit will: introduce new routes; cancel current regular routes; cancel a current seasonal route; introduce new branches to current routes; revise current routes; increase service on current routes; resume service to high schools; rename a current route; renumber current routes; and adjust the schedules of current routes.

Introduce new routes

101 Airport Express

Starting Tuesday, September 2, Brampton Transit will operate new express bus service between the Bramalea Transit Centre and Toronto Pearson Air Terminal 1, Mondays to Saturdays. The buses stop only at the Bramalea Transit Centre, Bramalea Road and Steeles Avenue East (Bramalea GO Station) and the air terminal.

Southbound buses leave the Bramalea Transit Centre and proceed:

westward along Clark Boulevard;
southward along Bramalea Road;
westward along Derry Road East; and then
southward along Airport Road and then into the air terminal,
where the buses end their trips.

Northbound buses reverse this routing.

Mondays to Fridays, southbound buses leave Bramalea about every 30 minutes from 4:56 until 7:26 a.m., every hour from 7:26 until 11:26 a.m. and then every 30 minutes from 11:47 a.m. until 12:17 a.m. Northbound buses leave Pearson about every 30 minutes from 5:25 until 7:58 a.m., about every hour from 7:58 until 11:55 a.m. and then every 30 minutes from 12:15 p.m. until 12:45 a.m.

Saturdays, southbound buses leave Bramalea about every 30 minutes from 5:26 until 7:26 a.m., every hour from 7:26 until 11:26 a.m. and then every 30 minutes from 11:47 a.m. until 11:17 p.m. Northbound buses leave Pearson about every 30 minutes from 5:55 until 7:58 a.m., about every hour from 7:58 until 11:55 a.m. and then every 30 minutes from 12:15 until 11:45 p.m.

210 Cardinal Leger Secondary School

Starting Tuesday, September 2, Brampton Transit will operate buses on this new Monday-to-Friday route serving passengers traveling to Cardinal Leger Secondary School.

Mondays to Fridays at 7:45 a.m., a bus will leave Lockwood and Drinkwater Roads and proceed:

northward along Drinkwater;
eastward along Queen Street West;
southward along McMurchy Avenue South;
eastward along Elgin Drive; and then
northward along Main Street South to Guest Street,
where the bus ends its trip at 8:05 a.m.

207 Mayfield Secondary School

Starting Tuesday, September 2, Brampton Transit will replace the former 88 Mayfield Secondary School route with two new routes: 207 and 208 Mayfield Secondary School.

Monday-to-Friday mornings at 7:20 a.m., a northbound bus operating on the 207 Mayfield Secondary School route leaves the Bramalea Transit Centre at 7:20 a.m. and proceeds:

westward along Knightsbridge Road; and then
northward along Bramalea Road to Mayfield Road East;
ending its trip at Mayfield Secondary School at 7:40 a.m.

Monday-to-Friday afternoons at 2:55 and 3:05 p.m., southbound buses leave Mayfield Secondary and reverse this routing, ending their trips at Bramalea at 3:15 and 3:25 p.m.

208 Mayfield Secondary School

Starting Tuesday, September 2, Brampton Transit will replace the former 88 Mayfield Secondary School route with two new routes: 207 and 208 Mayfield Secondary School.

Monday-to-Friday mornings at 7:25 a.m., a northbound bus operating on the 207 Mayfield Secondary School route leaves the Bramalea Transit Centre at 7:20 a.m. and proceeds:

westward along Clark Boulevard;
northward along Dixie Road; and then
eastward along Mayfield Road East to Bramalea Road,
ending its trip at Mayfield Secondary School at 7:45 a.m.

Monday-to-Friday afternoons at 2:55 p.m., a southbound bus leaves Mayfield Secondary and reverses this routing, ending its trip at Bramalea at 3:15 p.m.


Cancel current regular routes

6 Mackay

Friday, August 29 will be the last day that Brampton Transit operates buses along the route.

Buses on the 6 Mackay route operate along many streets that buses on other routes serve, including 9 Vodden, 15 Bramalea, 18 Dixie, 19 Fernforest, 22 Springdale and 92 GO Shuttle B. These buses will continue to serve most of the current 6 Mackay route.

Starting Tuesday, September 2, BT will revise the 12 Grenoble route to serve stops along Sunny Meadow Boulevard between Bovaird Drive and Larkspur Road that buses on the 6 Mackay route currently serve. Brampton Transit will no longer serve stops along Professor’s Lake Parkway or Larkspur Road.

91 GO Shuttle A

Friday, August 29 will be the last day that Brampton Transit operates buses along the route.

Starting Tuesday, September 2, BT will operate buses along the new 15A Bramalea branch between Brampton Civic Hospital and Bramalea GO Station. The new branch will replace the current 91 GO Shuttle A route.

88 Mayfield Secondary School

Starting Tuesday, September 2, Brampton Transit will replace the route with the new 207 and 208 Mayfield Secondary School high school special routes.

87 Saint Margaret d’Youville Catholic High School

Brampton Transit will not operate buses along this high school special route this year.


Cancel a current seasonal route

66 Wonderland

Labour Day, Monday, September 1 will be the last day this year that Brampton Transit operates buses along the route.


Introduce new branches of current routes

15 Bramalea

Starting Tuesday, September 2, Brampton Transit buses operate along a new branch of the route between Brampton Civic Hospital and Bramalea GO Station, replacing the current 91 GO Shuttle A route.

Southbound buses start their trips at Bramalea Road and Bovaird Drive at 6:15, 6:45, 7:15, 7:51, 8:21 and 8:51 a.m. and 3:44, 4:14, 4:44, 5:14, 5:44 and 6:14 p.m., Mondays to Fridays, then proceed:

southward along Bramalea;
eastward along Knightsbridge Road and into the Bramalea Transit Centre; then continue
westward along Knightsbridge;
southward along Bramalea to Bramalea GO Station, where the buses end their trips.

(One more southbound trip leaves the Bramalea Transit Centre at 3:25 p.m., Mondays to Fridays.)

Northbound buses start their trips at Bramalea GO Station Mondays to Fridays at 6:40, 7:10, 7:40 and 8:16 a.m. and 3:09, 3:39, 4:09, 4:39, 5:09, 5:39 and 6:09 p.m. then proceed:

northward along Bramalea;
eastward along Knightsbridge Road and into the Bramalea Transit Centre; then continue
westward along Knightsbridge;
northward along Bramalea;
westward along Peter Robertson Boulevard;
southward along Sunny Meadow Boulevard; and then
westward along Bovaird Drive to Bramalea, where the buses end their trips.

(One more northbound bus leaves Bramalea GO Station at 6:39 p.m., but ends its trip at the Bramalea Transit Centre.)

77A Highway 7 / Centre

Starting Tuesday, September 2, Brampton Transit will provide express service on the new 77A branch between Bramalea and York University. Buses operating on four Monday-to-Friday morning eastbound trips will leave Bramalea Terminal at 6:22, 6:52, 7:22 and 7:52 a.m., then proceed:

eastward along Knightsbridge Road;
northward along Bramalea Road;
eastward along Queen Street East / Highway 7;
southward along Highway 427;
eastward along Highway 407;
northward along Weston Road;
eastward along Highway 7;
southward along Keele Street; and then
eastward along York Boulevard into York University’s Keele Campus,
where the buses end their trips.

Buses operating on four Monday-to-Friday afternoon westbound trips will leave York University at 3:45, 4:30, 5:30 and 6:15 p.m. and reverse this routing to Bramalea.

Buses serve local stops along Queen Street East and Highway 7, but operate express along Highways 427 and 407.


Revise current routes

4 Chinguacousy

Starting Tuesday, September 2, southbound buses operate along their regular routes to Chinguacousy Road and Charolais Boulevard, then proceed:

southward along Chinguacousy; and then
eastward along Steeles Avenue East,
resuming their regular route eastward along Steeles.

Northbound buses reverse this routing.

Brampton Transit buses operating on the revised 53 James Potter route will replace the current 4 Chinguacousy service along Charolais, Duggan Drive, Moffatt Avenue and McMurchy Avenue South.

12 Grenoble

Starting Tuesday, September 2, Brampton Transit will revise and extend the route.

Southbound buses start their trips at Australia Drive and Torbram Road and proceed:

westward along Australia;
southward along Sunny Meadow Boulevard; and then
eastward along Bovaird Drive to Torbram Road,
where the buses resume their current route southward along Torbram.

Northbound buses operate along their current route to Torbram Road and Bovaird Drive, then proceed:

westward along Bovaird;
northward along Sunny Meadow Boulevard;
eastward along Sandalwood Parkway East; and then
northward along Torbram Road to Australia Drive,
where the buses end their trips.

The revised route replaces current 6 Mackay route along Sunny Meadow Boulevard between Larkspur Road and Bovaird Drive and the current 14 Torbram route along Australia Drive and Sunny Meadow Boulevard between Australia and Sandalwood Parkway East. It also introduces transit service along Sunny Meadow between Sandalwood and Larkspur Road and adds more service to the Brampton Civic Hospital area at Bovaird and Sunny Meadow.

The revised 22 Springdale route replaces the current 12 Grenoble route along Mountainberry Road. Brampton Transit buses will no longer operate along Eastridge Drive or Mountainash Road between Mountainberry (north) and Bovaird Drive.

53 James Potter

Starting Tuesday, September 2, Brampton Transit will revise and extend the route and rename the former 53 Kingknoll service so that buses travel on a wide circle through south-west Brampton.

Buses start clockwise trips at Shoppers World Transit Terminal, then proceed:

westward along Steeles Avenue West;
southward along McLaughlin Road South;
east- and northward through Sheridan College Davis Campus;
south- and westward through Sheridan;
southward along McLaughlin;
westward along Oaklea and Ray Lawson Boulevards;
northward along Mavis and Chinguacousy Roads;
west- and northward along Clementine Drive;
northward along James Potter Road;
eastward along Charolais Boulevard;
southward along Duggan Drive;
east- and northward along Moffatt Avenue;
eastward along Charolais;
southward along McMurchy Avenue South; and then
eastward along Steeles Avenue West to Shoppers World Terminal,
where the buses end their trips.

Counterclockwise buses reverse this route to Ray Lawson Boulevard and Kingknoll Drive, then proceed:

north- and eastward along Kingknoll;
east- and northward through Sheridan College Davis Campus; and then
eastward along Steeles Avenue West to Shoppers World Terminal,
where the buses end their trips.

The revised route introduces transit service along James Potter Road and Charolais Boulevard between James Potter and Chinguacousy Roads and replaces the current 4 Chinguacousy service along Charolais between Chinguacousy and Duggan Drive and between Moffatt and McMurchy Avenue and along Duggan Drive, Moffatt Avenue and McMurchy Avenue South.

22 Springdale

Starting Tuesday, September 2, Brampton Transit will revise and extend the route so that buses travel around a wide circle through north-east Brampton.

Buses start clockwise trips at the Trinity Common Transit Terminal, then proceed:

northward along Great Lakes Drive;
westward along Sandawood Parkway East;
northward along Dixie Road;
westward along Father Tobin Road;
southward along Mountainash Road;
west-, south- and eastward along Mountainberry Road;
eastward along Peter Robertson Boulevard:
northward along Bramalea Road;
eastward along Back Forest Drive;
southward along Fernforest Drive; and then
eastward along Peter Robertson to Trinity Common Transit Terminal, where the buses end their trips.

Counterclockwise buses reverse this route.

The revised route introduces two-way transit service along Mountainash Road north of Mountainberry Road, along Mountainberry and along Father Tobin Road between Dixie and Mountainash Roads. Brampton Transit buses will no longer operate along Mountainash south of Mountainberry (north).

Brampton Transit will also increase the service hours of the route. (Buses operate about every 30 minutes Mondays to Saturdays.)

51 Steeles West

Starting Tuesday, September 2, Brampton Transit will extend the route.

Westbound buses operate along their regular route to Financial Drive and Meadowvale Boulevard, then proceed:

southward along Financial;
westward along Derry Road West; and then
northward along Mississauga Road to Meadowvale,
resuming their regular route northward along Mississauga.

The revised route introduces Brampton Transit service along Financial Drive and Mississauga Road, south of Meadowvale Boulevard and along Derry Road West between Financial and Meadowvale. Brampton Transit will no longer operate buses along Meadowvale Boulevard. (Mississauga Transit already operates along Financial, Meadowvale and Derry.)

14 Torbram

Starting Tuesday, September 2, Brampton Transit will revise and extend the route.

Southbound buses start their trips at Countryside Drive and Torbram Road, then proceed:

southward along Torbram Road to Sandalwood Parkway East,
where the buses resume their regular route southward along Torbram.

Northbound buses operate along their current route to Torbram and Australia Drive, then proceed:

northward along Torbram;
westward along Father Tobin Drive;
northward along Sunny Meadow Boulevard; and then
eastward along Countryside Drive to Torbram,
where the buses end their trips.

The revised route introduces transit service along Torbram Road, north of Australia Drive, along Sunny Meadow Boulevard, north of Father Tobin Drive, and along Countryside Drive. Buses operating on the revised 12 Grenoble route replace the current 14 Torbram service along Australia Drive and Sunny Meadow Boulevard between Australia Drive and Sandalwood Parkway East.


Increase service of current routes

31 McVean

Starting Tuesday, September 2, Brampton Transit will operate buses along the route Mondays to Fridays from about 6 a.m. until 7 p.m., instead of just during Monday-to-Friday rush hours. Buses will still operate once every hour.

22 Springdale

Starting Tuesday, September 2, Brampton Transit will operate buses along the route Mondays to Saturdasy, instead of just Monday-to-Friday rush hours. Buses will operate Mondays to Fridays from about 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. and Saturdays from about 6 a.m. until 7:30 p.m.

Brampton Transit will also revise the route.

29 Williams

Starting Tuesday, September 2, Brampton Transit will operate buses along the route seven days a week, instead of just Monday-to-Friday rush hours.

Buses operate from about 5:30 a.m. until midnight, Mondays to Fridays, from about 6:45 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. Saturdays and from about 7:30 a.m. unti 7:30 p.m. on Sundays and holidays.


Resume service to high schools

Starting Tuesday, September 2, Brampton Transit will resume operating buses along high school special routes.

It has assigned the “200” series of numbers to the routes:

210 Cardinal Leger Secondary School
201 Mayfield Secondary School
202 Mayfield Secondary School
203 Mayfield Secondary School
204 Mayfield Secondary School
207 Mayfield Secondary School
208 Mayfield Secondary School

Starting Tuesday, September 2, Brampton Transit will revise and extend the current 53 Kingknoll route and rename it 53 James Potter.

Starting Tuesday, September 2, Brampton Transit will identify all high school special routes with three-digit numbers starting with “2”. It will also adjust the schedule of the route so that one northbound bus will leave Heart Lake Terminal at 7:15 a.m. Mondays to Fridays and end its trip at Mayfield Secondary School at 7:35 a.m. The afternoon bus operates on the previous schedule.

It will also adjust the schedule of the route so that an extra westbound bus leaves on a new afternoon trip from Turner Fenton at 2:48 p.m., travel northward along Kennedy Road South and westward along Steeles Avenues East and West, arriving at the Shoppers World Terminal at 2:55 p.m., where it will end its trip.

5 Bovaird

Starting Saturday, September 6, Brampton Transit will operate buses along the route late on Saturday, Sunday and holiday evenings.

18 / 18A Dixie

Starting Tuesday, September 2, Brampton Transit buses will make one more round trip during Monday-to-Friday morning rush hours.

19 Fernforest

Starting Tuesday, September 2, Brampton Transit buses will operate along the route every 20 minutes during Monday-to-Friday rush hours.

7 / 7A Kennedy

Starting Tuesday, September 2, Brampton Transit buses will operate more buses along the route during Monday-to-Friday rush hours.

2 Main

Starting Tuesday, September 2, Brampton Transit will adjust the schedule for buses operating from about 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., Mondays to Fridays.

3 McLaughlin

Starting Tuesday, September 2, Brampton Transit buses will operate along the route every 30 minutes from about 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., Mondays to Fridays.

1 Queen

Starting Tuesday, September 2, Brampton Transit buses will operate more buses along the route between the Bramalea and Downtown Brampton Transit Centres during Monday-to-Friday rush hours.

23 Sandalwood

Starting Tuesday, September 2, Brampton Transit will operate buses along the route late evenings seven days a week.

11 Steeles

Starting Tuesday, September 2, Brampton Transit will operate more buses along the route and increase the frequency of service during Monday-to-Friday rush hours.

50 The Gore Road

Starting Tuesday, September 2, Brampton Transit will operate a bus on one more round trip Monday-to-Saturday evenings.
