GO adds more parking at stations

On Friday, September 5, GO Transit opened two more parking lots at its stations in Barrie and Burlington, adding 800 more parking spots for commuters.

The multi-level parking structure at Burlington GO Station has room for 600 cars and sits on the north side of the station and contains an elevator to help commuters get to and from all levels of the station. The new parking lot brings the total number of parking spaces at Burlington to 2,100.

At Barrie South GO Station, GO has added another 200 spaces, allowing the station parking lots to accommodate 700 cars.

According to GO’s media release announcing that it has expanded parking at the two stations, ridership at Barrie South has increased 45% since GO re-introduced train service to Barrie on December 17.
