Oshawa construction affects DRT service this week



Construction projects on Beatrice Street and Simcoe Street in Oshawa will affect Durham Region Transit services, starting this week.

Beatrice Street

Today, Monday, September 29, the City of Oshawa starts the next phase of its project to repave Beatrice Street between Wilson and Ritson Roads. The project will likely continue until Tuesday October 14.

DRT will detour bus service on the 405 Central Park, 414 Oshawa Community Bus, 432 Eastdale High School Special and 434 Eastdale High School Special routes during the project.

405 Central Park

Starting, Monday, September 29, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Attersley Drive and Wilson Road North, then detour:

southward along Wilson;
southwestward along Terrace Drive; and then
westward along Mayfair Avenue to Central Park Boulevard North,
resuming their regular route southward along Central Park.

Northbound buses operate along their regular route to Central Park Boulevard North and Highgate Avenue, then detour:

westward along Highgate; and then
northward along Ritson Road North to Beatrice Street East,
resuming their regular route northward along Ritson.

432 Eastdale High School Special

The bus operates along its regular route to Ritson Road North and Beatrice Street East, then detours:

southward along Ritson;
eastward along Rossland Road East; and then
northward along Wilson Road North to Attersley Drive,
resuming its regular route east- and southward along Attersley.

434 Eastdale High School Special

The bus operates along its regular route to Attersley Drive and Wilson Road North, then detours:

southward along Wilson;
westward along Rossland Road East; and then
northward along Ritson Road North to Beatrice Street East,
resuming its regular route westward along Beatrice.

414 Oshawa Community Bus

Southbound buses operate along their regular route.

Starting Monday, September 29, northbound buses operate along their regular route to Terrace Drive and Wilson Street North, then detour:

southward along Wilson;
westward along Rossland Road East; and then
northward along Ritson Road North to Beatrice Street East,
resuming their regular route eastward along Beatrice.


Simcoe Street North at Columbus Road

This week, the Region of Durham will start a project to reconstruct the intersection. The project will likely end on Friday, October 3.

Durham Region Transit will detour bus service during the project.

950 Uxbridge / Port Perry / UOIT

Starting Wednesday, October 1, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Simcoe Street North and Howden Road East, then detour:

eastward along Howden;
southward along Ritson Road North; and then
westward along Winchester Road East to Simcoe,
resuming their regular route southward along Simcoe.

Northbound buses reverse this routing.

Two earlier construction projects — on Simcoe Street at Shirley Road and on King Street in Prince Albert — that affected service on this route recently ended. Buses on the route continue to detour around another project — to reconstruct Paxton Street in Port Perry.
