Strike ends:
Viva service resumed at 6 a.m. today

Yesterday, Friday, October 10, members of the Amalgamated Transit Union’s Local 113 ratified its contract with Veolia Transportation Inc., so that York Region’s Viva bus rapid transit service can resume today.

Although Viva buses operate on regular Saturday schedules today, passengers should expect some delays while service resumes.

Local 113 represents about 160 Viva bus operators. About 35,000 passengers travel on 90 Viva buses daily. The operators have been on strike since Thursday, September 25.
