Part 2 -- TTC revises service:
Northern Toronto



Starting tomorrow, Sunday, November 23, the TTC extensively revises its routes and services.

this post describes changes to routes and services in northern Toronto — the area of the city lying north of Highway 401, between the Humber River and Victoria Park Avenue. (This area contains much of the former City of North York.)


The changes affect these routes: 7 Bathurst; 10 Van Horne; 11 Bayview; 25 Don Mills; 29 Dufferin; 36 Finch West; 37 Islington; 39 Finch East; 41 Keele; 42 Cummer; 51 Leslie; 53 Steeles East; 60 Steeles West; 73 Royal York; 85 Sheppard East; 89 Weston; 97 Yonge; 98 Willowdale - Senlac; 104 Faywood; 105 Dufferin North; 106 York University; 108 Downsview; 120 Calvington; 125 Drewry; 165 Weston Rd North; 167 Pharmacy North; 169 Huntingwood; 190 Scarborough Centre Rocket; 196 York University Rocket.


Specifically, the TTC will: introduce new branches of current routes; cancel branches of current routes; extend a current route; increase the hours of service along current routes; decrease the hours of service along current routes; increase the frequency of service along current routes; decrease the frequency of service along current routes; equip all buses operating on the routes with bike racks; adjust the schedules of current routes.


Introduce new branches of current routes

105 Dufferin North

Starting Sunday, November 25, the TTC operates buses along a new 105B branch between Steeles Avenue West and Downsview Station late evenings only.

After 10 p.m., southbound buses start their trips at Steeles Avenue West and Dufferin Street, then proceed:

southward along Dufferin, along their regular route to Downsview Station.

Northbound buses operate along their regular route to Dufferin Street and Gerry Fitzgerald Drive, then proceed:

northwestward along Gerry Fitzgerald; and then
eastward along Steeles Avenue West to Dufferin,
ending their trips.

The TTC also increases the hours of service and increases the frequency of service along the route.

169 Huntingwood

Starting Sunday, November 23, the TTC operates buses along the new 169A Huntingwood via Van Horne branch of the route, replacing the current 10 Van Horne service during Monday-to-Friday midday and evenings and all day Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. During Monday-to-Friday rush hours, buses serving the 169 Huntingwood and 10 Van Horne routes continue to operate as separate routes.

From about 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. and after 7 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and all day Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, westbound buses operate along the current 169 Huntingwood route to Huntingwood Drive and Victoria Park Avenue, then proceed:

northward along Victoria Park;
westward along Pleasant View Avenue;
northward along Brian Drive;
westward along Van Horne Avenue; and then
southward along Don Mills Road to Don Mills Station,
ending their trips.

Eastbound buses start their trips at Don Mills Station, then proceed:

northward along Don Mills Road;
eastward along Van Horne Avenue;
southward along Victoria Park Avenue to Huntingwood Drive,
resuming the current 169 Huntingwood route eastward along Huntingwood.

The TTC also increases the hours of service and increases the frequency of service along the route.

167 Pharmacy North

Starting Sunday, November 23, the TTC revises the route to serve passengers wanting to travel along Consumers Road and Yorkland Boulevard Monday-to-Friday evenings and all days Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

Westbound buses operate along their regular route to Sheppard Avenue East and Victoria Park Avenue, then proceed:

southward along Victoria Park;
westward along Consumers Road;
west- north- and eastward along Yorkland Boulevard;
northward along Consumers; and then
westward along Sheppard to Don Mills Station.

Eastbound buses reverse the routing.

Buses operating on the 24A Victoria Park route continue to operate along Consumers Road and Yorkland Boulevard until about 7 p.m. Buses on the 167 Pharmacy North route continue to operate directly along Sheppard Avenue East between Pharmacy Avenue and Don Mills Station Mondays to Fridays until about 7 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. Together, the two routes serve passengers wanting to travel along Consumers Road and Yorkland Boulevard every day until about 1 a.m.

The TTC also increases the hours of service along the route and decreases the frequency of service along the route.

Cancel branches of current routes

11 Bayview

Starting Sunday, November 23, the TTC cancels the 11A short-turn branch between Sheppard Avenue East and Davisville Station that currently serves passengers traveling along the route after 10 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. TTC buses no longer operate along Bayview Mews Lane and Hawkesbury Drive between Bayview Mews and Sheppard for the first time since Sunday, March 31, 1974.

Every evening after 7 p.m. until about 1 a.m. all buses on the route operate to either Steeles or Sunnybrook Hospital.

The TTC also increases the hours of service along the route and increases the frequency of service along the route. It also equips all buses operating on the route with bike racks.

73 Royal York

Saturday, November 22 is the last day that buses operate along the 73 branch to Humberline Loop late evenings. Starting Sunday, November 23, every second bus along the route operates to either LaRose Avenue and Royal York Road or to Claireport Crescent and Albion Road every day until 1 a.m.

The TTC also increases the hours of service along the branches of the route and decreases the hours of service along other branches of the route.

60 Steeles West

Sunday, November 16 was the last day that the TTC operated buses along the 60 branch, with buses ending their trips at the Islington / Steeles Loop Sunday and holiday evenings after 10 p.m.

Starting Sunday, November 23, buses operate to Martin Grove Road every day until about 1 p.m.

The TTC also increases the hours of service along parts of the route, increases the frequency of service along parts of the route and decreases the frequency of service along parts of the route.

Extend a current route

96 Wilson

Starting Monday, November 24, the TTC extends the routing of the current 96G branch to Sheppard Avenue West and Arrow Road during Monday-to-Friday rush hours. Buses operate along Bartor Road north of Clayson Road and Torbarrie Road. Buses no longer operate Clayson between Torbarrie and Huxley Roads or along Huxley Road.

During Monday-to-Friday morning rush hours, westbound buses operate along the current 96G branch to Clayson and Bartor Roads, then proceed:

northward along Bartor; and then
southward along Arrow Road to Sheppard Avenue West,
ending their trips.

During morning rush hours, eastbound buses start their trips at Arrow Road and Sheppard Avenue West, then proceed:

eastward along Sheppard;
northward along Oakdale Road;
southward along Torbarrie and Jethro Roads to Wilson Avenue,
resuming their current route eastward along Wilson.

During afternoon rush hours, westbound buses operate along their current route to Wilson Avenue and Jethro Road, then proceed:

northward along Jethro and Torbarrie Roads;
southward along Oakdale Road to Sheppard Avenue West,
ending their trips.

During afternoon rush hours, eastbound buses start their trips on Oakdale Road at Sheppard Avenue West, then proceed:

westward along Sheppard;
northward along Arrow Road;
southward along Bartor Road;
west- and southward along Clayson Road to Huxley Road,
resuming their current route southward along Clayson.

The TTC operates one bus to serve passengers every 17½ minutes during morning rush hours and every 21 minutes during afternoon rush hours.

The TTC also increases the hours of service along parts of the route, increases the frequency of service along parts of the route and decreases the frequency of service along parts of the route. It also equips all buses operating on the route with bike racks.

The TTC has not operated buses along Bartor Road since Friday, February 16, 1996. The TTC has never operated buses along Torbarrie Road.


Increase the hours of service along a current route

11 Bayview

Starting Sunday, November 23, the TTC resumes service to passengers wishing to travel along the route north of Sheppard Avenue East late Saturday, Sunday and holiday evenings. It operates one bus along the route to serve passengers every 24 minutes between Steeles Avenue East and Davisville Station Saturdays, Sundays and holidays after 10 p.m. The last bus travels along the route at about 1 a.m. every evening.

The TTC last operated buses along the route north of Sheppard Avenue after 10 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays on Saturday, February 17, 1996.

The TTC also cancels a branch of the current route and increases the frequency of service along the route. It also equips all buses operating on the route with bike racks.

120 Calvington

Starting Sunday, November 23, the TTC operates buses along the route seven days a week until 1 a.m. (Currently, it only operates buses along the route during Monday-to-Friday rush hours.) It operates two buses to serve passengers every 30 minutes at all times.

It also increases the frequency of the service along the route during rush hours.

TTC buses have never served most of this route other than during rush hours. The TTC has not operated buses along Calvington Drive other than during rush hours since February 17, 1996.

42 Cummer

Starting Sunday, November 23, the TTC resumes service for passengers wishing to travel along the route east of Kennedy Road to Middlefield Road from about 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. It also introduces new service to passengers wishing to travel along the route to Middlefield Monday-to-Friday evenings and all day Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

The TTC operates one more bus along the route to serve passengers traveling between Kennedy and Middlefield Roads every 20 minutes before 10 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and every 10 minutes between Kennedy and Finch Station. It operates one more bus to serve passengers every 30 minutes between Middlefield and Finch Station Mondays to Fridays after 10 p.m., Saturdays, Sundays and holidays after 7 p.m. and Sundays and holidays before noon. It operates one more bus along the route to serve passengers every 20 minutes between Middlefield and Finch Station Saturdays before 9 a.m. and Sundays and holidays from about noon until 7 p.m. It operates one more bus along the route to serve passengers every 30 minutes between Middlefield and Kennedy from about 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Saturdays and every 15 minutes between Kennedy and Finch Station.

(Starting Sunday, November 23 buses operate along the 42 branch between Kennedy and Finch Station until about 7 p.m. Mondays to Saturdays. They operate along the 42A branch between Victoria Park and Finch Station only during Monday-to-Friday rush hours. They operate between Middlefield and Finch Station every day until 1 a.m.)

The TTC also equips all buses operating on the route with bike racks.

The TTC currently only operates buses along the route to Middlefield Road during Monday-to-Friday rush hours. It last operated buses along the 42 Cummer route between Kennedy and Middlefield Roads Mondays to Fridays from about 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Friday, October 14, 2005. The TTC has never operated buses along the route to Middlefield Monday to Friday evenings or Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

108 Downsview

Starting Sunday, November 23 the TTC increases the hours of service so that buses operate along the route until about 1 a.m. every evening.

It also increases the frequency of service along the route.

125 Drewry

Starting Sunday, November 23, the TTC increases the hours of service so that the last bus operates along the route about 1 a.m. every evening. It also resumes service to passengers wanting to travel along the route late Saturday, Sunday and holiday evenings. It operates one more bus along the route to serve passengers every 30 minutes Saturdays, Sundays and holidays after 10 p.m.

It also increases the frequency of service along the route at other times of the week.

The TTC has not operated buses along the route Saturdays, Sundays and holidays after 10 p.m. since Saturday, February 17, 1996.

105 Dufferin North

Starting Sunday, November 23, the TTC introduces new service to passengers wanting to travel along the route late evenings after 10 p.m. It operates one bus to serve passengers traveling between Steeles Avenue West and Downsview Station every 30 minutes until 1 a.m. every evening.

It also introduces a new branch of the route and increases the frequency of service during other times of the week.

The TTC has never operated buses along the current 105 Dufferin North or the former 105 Wilson Heights routes after 10 p.m.

104 Faywood

Starting Sunday, November 24, the TTC resumes service for passengers wanting to travel along the route late Sunday and holiday evenings after 10 p.m. It operates one bus to serve passengers every 30 minutes late Sunday and holiday evenings until about 1 a.m.

Starting Saturday, November 29, the TTC extends its service to passengers wanting to travel along the route late Saturday evenings until 1 a.m.

The TTC has not operated buses along the 104 Faywood route Sunday and holiday evenings after 10 p.m. since Sunday, February 11, 1996.

169 Huntingwood

Starting Sunday, November 23, the TTC resumes service for passengers wanting to travel along the route Monday-to-Friday midday and evenings and all day Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. From about 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m., it operates one bus to serve passengers every 30 minutes along the new 169A branch combining the current 169 Huntingwood and 10 Van Horne routes. It also operates three buses to serve passengers every 30 minutes along the new 169A branch Mondays to Fridays after 7 p.m. and all day Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

The TTC also increases the frequency of service along the route and introduces a new branch of the route.

The TTC has not operated buses along the 169 Huntingwood route other than during Monday-to-Friday rush hours since Friday, February 16, 1996.

37 Islington

Starting Sunday, November 23, the TTC introduces new service to passengers wanting to travel along the 37A branch of the route early Saturday, Sunday and holiday mornings. It operates earlier trips along Rexdale Boulevard from about 6 a.m. until 9 a.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, serving passengers every 24 to 30 minutes.

It also increases the frequency of service along the route at other times of the week and adjusts the schedule of the current route. It also equips all buses operating on the route with bike racks.

The TTC has never operated buses along Rexdale Boulevard before 9 a.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

51 Leslie

Starting Sunday, November 23, the TTC resumes service to passengers wanting to travel along the route Sundays and holidays. It also interlines the buses with the 61 Avenue Rd North route Sundays and holidays. It operates three buses along both routes together to serve passengers traveling along the 51 Leslie route every 30 minutes all day Sundays and holidays.

Starting Monday, November 24, the TTC resumes service to passengers wanting to travel along the route late Monday-to-Saturday evenings. It also interlines the buses with the 61 Avenue Rd North route late Monday-to-Saturday evenings. It operates three buses along both routes together to serve passengers traveling along the 51 Leslie route every 30 minutes after 10 p.m. Mondays to Saturdays.

Starting Saturday, November 29, the TTC resumes service to passengers wanting to travel along the route early Saturday mornings and early Saturday evenings. It also interlines the route with the 61 Avenue Rd North route early Saturday mornings and early Saturday evenings. It operates three buses along both routes to serve passengers traveling along the 51 Leslie route every 30 minutes before 9 a.m. and from 7 until 10 p.m. Saturdays.

The TTC also increases the frequency of the service along the route and equips all buses operating on the route with bike racks.

The TTC has not operated buses along the 51 Leslie route late evenings, early Saturday mornings, early Saturday evenings and all day Sundays and holidays since Saturday, February 17, 1996.

167 Pharmacy North

Starting Sunday, November 23, the TTC introduces new service to passengers wanting to travel along the route Monday-to-Saturday evenings and all day Sundays and holidays. It also revises the route to introduce new service to passengers wanting to travel along Consumers Road and Yorkland Boulevard Monday-to-Friday evenings and all day Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

It operates two more buses along the revised route to serve customers every 30 minutes Monday-to-Saturday evenings and all day Sundays and holidays. It continues to operate two buses along the revised route until about 7 p.m. Saturdays.

The TTC also decreases the frequency of service along the route.

The TTC has never operated buses along the 167 Pharmacy North route Monday-to-Saturday evenings, Sundays and holidays. The TTC has never operated buses along Consumers Road and Yorkland Boulevard Monday-to-Friday evenings, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

73 Royal York

Starting Sunday, November 23, the TTC introduces new service to passengers and operates buses along two branches of the route every day until about 1 a.m. Buses operate along either the 73C branch to and from Albion Road and Claireport Crescent or along the 73B branch to and from Eglinton Avenue West (LaRose Avenue and Royal York Road) every day. (Before 9 a.m. Sundays and holidays, buses only operate to Claireport.) Currently, buses only operate to and from LaRose during Monday-to-Friday rush hours and to and from Claireport from about 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. Mondays to Saturdays and from about 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. Sundays and holidays.

To provide this new service, starting Sunday, November 23, it operates one more bus along the route from about 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Sundays and holidays and three more buses along the route after 7 p.m. Sundays and holidays. Starting Monday, November 24, it operates one more bus along the route from about 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. and after 7 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. Starting Saturday, November 29, it operates one more bus along the route until about 10 p.m. Saturdays and 3 more buses along the route after 10 p.m. Saturdays.

Starting Sunday, November 23, buses serve passengers traveling between Claireport Crescent and Royal York Station every 30 minutes before 9 a.m. and after 10 p.m. Sundays and holidays. They operate every 18 minutes from about 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. Sundays and holidays.

Starting Sunday, November 24, buses serve passengers traveling between Claireport and Royal York Station every 12 minutes from about 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. Mondays to Fridays, every 17 minutes from about 7 until 10 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and every 30 minutes after 10 p.m. Mondays to Saturdays.

Starting Saturday, November 29, buses serve passengers traveling between Claireport and Royal York Station every 15 minutes until 9 a.m. Saturdays, every 13 minutes from about 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Saturdays, every 20 minutes from about 7 until 10 p.m. Saturdays and every 30 minutes after 10 p.m. Saturdays.

Starting Sunday, November 23, buses serve passengers traveling between LaRose Avenue and Royal York Station every 30 minutes from about 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. and after 7 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and all day Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

The TTC also decreases the hours of service of a branch of the route and cancels a branch of the route.

190 Scarborough Centre Rocket

Starting Sunday, November 23, the TTC introduces new service to passengers wanting to travel along the route late Sunday and holiday evenings and also operates later trips Mondays to Saturdays. Buses operate along the route every day until about 1 a.m.

Starting Sunday, November 23, it operates two buses to serve passengers every 20 minutes after 10 p.m. Sundays and holidays.

It also increases the frequency of the service along the route and equips all buses operating on the route with bike racks.

85 Sheppard East

Starting Sunday, November 23, the TTC introduces new service to passengers wanting to travel east of Meadowvale Road to Rouge Hill GO Station late Saturday, Sunday and holiday evenings. Starting Sunday, November 23, it operates one more bus along the route to serve passengers traveling to and from Rouge Hill every 30 minutes after 10 p.m. Sundays and holidays. Starting Saturday, November 29 it operates one more bus along the route to serve passengers traveling to and from Rouge Hill every 20 minutes after 10 p.m. Saturdays. Buses travel to Rouge Hill GO Station every day until about 1 a.m.

It also decreases the service hours of a branch of the route and increases the frequency of service along the route.

53 Steeles East

Starting Sunday, November 23, the TTC introduces new service to passengers wanting to travel between Markham and Staines Roads Monday-to-Friday midday and evenings, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Buses operate between Finch Station and Staines every day until about 1 a.m. Every second bus operates between Finch Station and Markham or Staines Roads until about 10 p.m. Mondays to Fridays, from about 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Saturdays and until 7 p.m. Sundays and holidays. All buses operate to Staines after 10 p.m. Mondays to Fridays, before 9 a.m. and after 7 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

Buses operate along the new 53A local branch, serving all stops between Staines Road and Finch Station from about 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. and after 10 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and all day Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Buses operate along the current 53F express branch, serving a few stops between Finch Station and Victoria Park Avenue and all stops between Victoria Park and Staines during Monday-to-Friday rush hours and early evenings.

Starting Sunday, November 23, buses operating on the 53A branch serve passengers every 22 minutes Sunday and holiday mornings, every 14 minutes Sunday and holiday afternoons, every 16 minutes from about 7 until 10 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays and every 20 minutes after 10 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

Starting Monday, November 24, buses operating on the 53A branch serve passengers every 12 minutes from about 9:30 until 3 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and every 10 minutes after 10 p.m. Mondays to Fridays.

Starting Saturday, November 29, buses operating on the 53 A branch serve passengers every 12½ minutes Saturday mornings and every 12 minutes Saturday afternoons.

The TTC also decreases the hours of service along parts of the route and increases the frequency of service along the route.

60 Steeles West

Starting Sunday, November 23, the TTC introduces new service to passengers wanting to travel into the Keele Campus of York University Saturday, Sunday and holiday evenings and new service to passengers wanting to travel to Martin Grove Road late Sunday and holiday evenings. Buses operate to either Martin Grove or York University every day until about 1 a.m.

Starting Sunday, November 23, it serves passengers traveling to York University every 24 minutes after 7 p.m. Sundays and holidays. Buses also serve passengers traveling to Martin Grove every 24 minutes after 7 p.m. Sundays and holidays

Starting Saturday, November 29, it serves passengers traveling to York every 20 minutes from about 7 until 10 p.m. Saturdays and every 24 minutes after 10 p.m. Saturdays.

It also increases the frequency of service along parts of the route, decreases the frequency of service along parts of the route and cancels a branch of the route.

165 Weston Rd North

Starting Sunday, November 23, the TTC introduces new service to passengers wanting to travel along the route to Steeles Avenue West Saturday, Sunday and holiday evenings. It also introduces new service to passengers wanting to travel to York Mills Station late Sunday and holiday evenings. Buses operate between York Mills Station and Steeles Avenue West every day until about 1 a.m.

Starting Sunday, November 23, it serves passengers traveling between York Mills and Steeles every 30 minutes after 10 p.m. Sundays and holidays. Starting Saturday, November 29, it serves passengers every 12 minutes from about 7 until 10 p.m. Saturdays and every 20 minutes after 10 p.m. Saturdays.

It also increases the frequency of service along the route and equips all buses operating on the route with bike racks.

98 Willowdale - Senlac

Starting Sunday, November 23, the TTC resumes service to passengers wanting to travel along the route late Monday-to-Friday evenings and Saturday, Sunday and holiday evenings. It operates two buses along the route to serve passengers every 30 minutes after 10 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and after 7 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

It also increases the frequency of service along the route.

The TTC has not operated buses along the route late Monday-to-Friday evenings or Saturday, Sunday and holiday evenings since Saturday, February 17, 1996.

96 Wilson

Starting Sunday, November 23, the TTC introduces new service to passengers wanting to travel to the Tandridge Crescent and Thistledown Boulevard areas, along John Garland Drive between Kipling Avenue and Martin Grove Road and along Carrier Drive. Buses operate to Tandridge / Thistledown, to the loop at Humberline Drive and Albion Road and to Carrier Drive north of Albion Road every day until about 1 a.m. Buses no longer operate along Finch Avenue West between Humberline Drive and Humber College Boulevard.

Starting Sunday, November 23, the TTC serves passengers traveling to the Tandridge and Thistledown areas every 30 minutes Saturdays, Sundays and holidays and Monday-to-Friday midday and evenings. (Currently buses only serve the areas during Monday-to-Friday rush hours.) Eastbound buses serve Tandridge Crescent before 3 p.m. each day. Westbound buses serve Tandridge Crescent after 3 p.m. each day.

Starting Sunday, November 23, the TTC serves passengers traveling along John Garland and Carrier Drives to north of Albion Road every 40 minutes Sunday and holiday mornings, every 30 minutes Sunday and holiday afternoons and every 45 minutes Sunday and holidays after 7 p.m.

Starting Monday, November 24, it serves passengers traveling along John Garland and Carrier to north of Albion every 15 minutes from about 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. Mondays to Fridays, every 40 minutes from about 7 until 10 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and every 40 minutes after 10 p.m. Mondays to Fridays.

Starting Saturday, November 29, it serves passengers traveling along John Garland and Carrier to north of Albion every 30 minutes Saturday mornings, every 24 minutes Saturday afternoons and evenings until 10 p.m. and every 44 minutes Saturdays after 10 p.m.

The TTC also extends the route, increases the frequency of service along parts of the route and decreases the frequency of service along parts of the route. It also equips all buses operating on the route with bike racks.

The TTC has never operated buses along Carrier Drive or to Tandridge Crescent and Thistledown Boulevard Monday-to-Friday evenings, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

97 Yonge

Starting Sunday, November 23, the TTC resumes service for passengers wanting to travel along the route north of York Mills Station late evenings. It operates one more bus along the route to serve passengers traveling between Steeles Avenue and York Mills Station every 30 minutes every day after 10 p.m. Buses operate along Yonge Street to and from Steeles Avenue and along Yonge Street and Boulevard to and from York Mills Station every day until about 1 a.m.

The TTC has not operated buses along the 97 Yonge route north of York Mills (except for temporary shuttle buses replacing the subway) since Saturday, February 17, 1996.

The TTC also increases the frequency of service along parts of the route and decreases the frequency of service along parts of the route. It also equips all buses operating on the route with bike racks.

Starting Sunday, November 23, the TTC introduces new service to passengers wanting to travel along the route between York University and Downsview Station Sundays and holidays, late Monday-to-Friday evenings, early Saturday mornings and Saturday evenings.

Starting Sunday, November 23, it operates three buses along the route to serve passengers every 15 minutes until 7 p.m. Sundays and holidays. It operates two buses along the route to serve passengers every 15 minutes after 7 p.m. Sundays and holidays.

Starting Monday, November 24, it operates three buses along the route to serve passengers every 10 minutes after 10 p.m. Mondays to Fridays.

Starting Saturday, November 29, it operates three buses along the route to serve passengers every 15 minutes before 9 a.m. Saturdays. It operates two buses along the route to serve passengers every 15 minutes after 7 p.m. Saturdays.

It also increases the frequency of service along the route.

73 Royal York

Saturday, November 22 is the last day that buses operate along the 73A branch to Royal York and Dixon Roads on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Starting Sunday, November 23, buses only operate along the 73A branch during Monday-to-Friday rush hours.

The TTC also increases the hours of service along branches of the route and cancels a branch of the route.

85 Sheppard East

Starting Sunday, November 23, the TTC decreases the hours of service of the various branches that serve the Toronto Zoo to match the Zoo’s new daily closing time of 4:30 p.m. The last buses leave the Zoo around 5:30 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

It also increases the hours of service along a branch of the route and increases the frequency of service along the route.

53 Steeles East

Starting Sunday, November 23, the TTC introduces new service to passengers wanting to travel between Markham and Staines Roads Monday-to-Friday midday and evenings, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Buses operate between Finch Station and Staines every day until about 1 a.m. Every second bus operates between Finch Station and Markham or Staines Roads until about 10 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and from about 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Saturdays. Buses no longer operate along McCowan Road, Elson Drive and Markham Road after 10 p.m. Mondays to Fridays, before 9 a.m. and after 7 p.m. Saturdays and after 7 p.m. Sundays and holidays.

The TTC also increases the hours of service along parts of the route and increases the frequency of service along the route.

Friday, November 21 was the last day that buses operated along the route Monday-to-Friday midday and evenings.

Starting Monday, November 24, the TTC operates buses along the route only during Monday-to-Friday rush hours. However, it still offers service to passengers traveling along Van Horne and Pleasant View Avenues and Brian Drive Monday-to-Friday midday and evenings and introduces new service to passengers wanting to travel along Van Horne, Pleasant View and Brian Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

Starting Monday, November 24, the TTC operates buses along the new 169A Huntingwood via Van Horne branch to serve passengers along Van Horne, Pleasant View and Brian every 30 minutes from about 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. and after 7 p.m. Mondays-to-Fridays and all day Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Buses operate along the 169A Huntingwood via Van Horne branch every day until about 1 a.m. and serve all stops along the 10 Van Horne route.

The TTC has never operated buses along Van Horne Avenue after 10 p.m. Mondays to Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays or holidays.

11 Bayview

Starting Monday, November 24, the TTC increases the frequency of service to passengers traveling late Monday-to-Friday evenings. It operates two more buses along the route, increasing the frequency Mondays to Fridays after 10 p.m. from every 35 minutes to every 20 minutes between Steeles Avenue and Sunnybrook Hospital and every 10 minutes between Sunnybrook and Davisville Station.

The TTC also increases the hours of service along the route cancels a branch of the current route. It also equips all buses operating on the route with bike racks.

120 Calvington

Starting Monday, November 23, the TTC increases the frequency of the service to passengers traveling along the route during Monday-to-Friday rush hours. It operates one more bus along the route, increasing the frequency from every hour to every 30 minutes.

It also resumes service during other times of the week

Starting Saturday, November 29, the TTC decreases the frequency of service to passengers traveling along the revised route until about 7 p.m. Saturdays. It still operates two buses along the route, but decreases the frequency from every 20 minutes to every 30 minutes.

97 Yonge

Starting Sunday, November 23, the TTC decreases the frequency of service to passengers traveling along Yonge Boulevard late evenings. It decreases the frequency after 10 p.m. from every 20 minutes to every 30 minutes. (Note that the TTC is closing the subway for maintenance every night after 12:30 a.m., so it continues to operate shuttle buses along Yonge Boulevard every 10 minutes from 12:30 until 2 a.m.)

The TTC also increases the hours of service along parts of the route and increases the frequency of service along parts of the route. It also equips all buses operating on the route with bike racks.

Starting Sunday, November 23, the TTC equips all buses operating on the routes with bike racks.


Adjust the schedules of current routes

7 Bathurst

The TTC no longer operates the extra bus that helped maintain the schedule and prevent overcrowding during construction along Bathurst Street.

37 Islington

Starting Monday, November 24, the TTC no longer interlines the buses with the 110 Islington South route after 10 p.m. Mondays to Fridays.

It also increases the hours of service and increases the frequency of service along the route at other times of the week. It also equips all buses operating on the route with bike racks.


Interlining refers to transit agencies sharing resources — drivers and vehicles — by scheduling two or more routes with a common terminal as if they were one route. For example, a bus operating on the 51 Leslie route may leave Steeles Avenue East, proceed along its route to Eglinton Station, then continue its trip along the 61 Avenue Rd North route. After continuing to Bombay Loop, the bus follows the 61 Avenue Rd North route back to Eglinton Station, then continues along the 51 Leslie route to Steeles.
