Interlining refers to transit agencies sharing resources — drivers and vehicles — by scheduling two or more routes with a common terminal as if they were one route. For example, a bus operating on the 20 Cliffside route may leave Kennedy Station, proceed along its route to Main Street Station, then continue its trip along the 62 Mortimer route. After continuing to Broadview Station, the bus follows the 62 Mortimer route back to Main Street Station, then continues along the 30 Cliffside route to Kennedy Station.
