Orangeville Transit decreases service hours,
January 2

While we were sleeping — or, at least, enjoying the holidays — transit agencies made several announcements — some big, some small — about current and upcoming services. Today’s posts update readers on recent news.

Orangeville Transit is ending its pilot project to offer passengers extended hours of service. The last day for the extended service is Wednesday, December 31.

Orangeville Transit extended its hours of service so that buses operated from 5:15 a.m. until 9:15 p.m., Mondays to Fridays on Wednesday, October 1. It partnered with GO Transit to increase the local service hours to help Orangeville passengers connect with later and earlier GO buses in the town.

Unfortunately, few passengers were using the service, so Orangeville Town Council has approved ending the pilot. Starting Friday, January 2, Orangeville Transit resumes its usual hours from 7:15 a.m. until 6:15 p.m., Mondays to Fridays and from 8:45 a.m. until 5:45 p.m. Saturdays. (Orangeville Transit buses do not operate on New Year’s Day, Thursday, January 1.)
