You can get e-mail alerts about TTC service disruptions

You can now receive e-mails from the TTC to alert you whenever the weather or other circumstances disrupt service on the subway and rapid transit (rt) lines.

Today, the TTC chair, Councillor Adam Giambrone, launched the new e-Alert subscription service. e-Alert notifies subscribers whenever TTC staff expect that a situation will delay or disrupt regular service for longer than 15 minutes. It also e-mails subscribers about shuttle buses to temporarily replace the subways or rt.

According to the TTC’s news release, the alerts also appear on the TTC website and on the electronic display screens above subway and rt platforms.

The TTC is currently developing a similar system to e-mail passengers whenever buses and streetcars are delayed.
