TTC detours buses at St. Clair and Christie, March 12 to 19

Transit Toronto thanks avid reader T.G. for letting us know about the detour.

From Thursday, March 12 until Thursday, March 19, the City of Toronto is closing part of the intersection of Christie Street and St. Clair Avenue West. Closing the intersection will allow City and TTC crews to complete the next phase of the along St. Clair.

The TTC is detouring buses while work proceeds.

126 Christie

From 7 a.m. on Thursday, March 12 until 7 a.m. on Thursday, March 19, southbound buses start their trips at St. Clair West Station, as usual, then proceed:

westward along the streetcar right-of-way;
southward along Vaughan Road and Bathurst Street; and then
westward along Davenport Road to Christie Street,
resuming their regular route southward along Christie.

Northbound buses operate along their regular route, unless the construction restricts the area for buses to turn eastward from Christie Street onto eastbound St. Clair Avenue West. In that event, the TTC will also detour northbound buses, which proceed along their regular route to Christie Street and Benson Avenue, then detour:

eastward along Benson; and then
northward along Wychwood Avenue,
resuming their regular route eastward along St. Clair.

The TTC is not detouring buses operating along the 512 St. Clair and 312 St. Clair (overnight) routes during this part of the project.
