HSR revises service, March 30



Starting Monday, March 30, the Hamilton Street Railway will adjust the schedules of various routes for the spring. It will make its summer schedule changes on Sunday, June 28


The changes affect these routes: 2 Barton; 3 Cannon; 18 Waterdown; 23 Upper Gage; 25 Upper Wentworth; 34 Upper Paradise; 51 University.


2 Barton

Starting Monday, March 30, the westbound bus that currently leaves Bell Manor Loop at 11:43 p.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves three minutes later at 11:46 p.m. The later trip helps passengers wanting to transfer from a westbound bus operating on the 55A Stoney Creek Central route that also leaves the loop at 11:46 p.m. Mondays to Fridays, traveling toward Eastgate Terminal.

3 Cannon

Starting Sunday, March 29 until Saturday, June 27, buses detour and operate under a temporary schedule during construction on Cannon Street.

51 University

Starting Monday, March 30, the HSR operates one more late Monday-to-Friday evening westbound trip. The bus leaves the Hamilton GO Centre at 10:25 p.m. Mondays to Fridays, arrives at the McMaster University Health Sciences Centre at 10:41 p.m. and continues to West Hamilton Loop, ending its trip at 10:49 p.m. An eastbound bus leaves the loop at 10:51 p.m., arrives at McMaster at 11 p.m. and ends its trip at the GO Centre at 11:18 p.m. This eastbound bus replaces the bus that currently starts its trip at McMaster at 10:52 p.m. and arrives at the GO Centre at 11:10 p.m. Mondays to Fridays.

23 Upper Gage

Starting Monday, March 30, the first northbound bus that currently leaves Upper Gage Avenue and Rymal Road East at 4:54 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves eight minutes earlier at 4:46 a.m. The bus arrives at Gore Park at 5:10 a.m. Mondays to Fridays.

34 Upper Paradise

Starting Monday, March 30, the HSR is increasing the time for northbound buses operating before 7 a.m. Mondays to Friday to complete each trip to Gore Park. All buses arrive at Gore Park at the same time as currently but leave two to four minutes earlier. The buses that currently leave Glancaster Loop at 5:27 and 6:27 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leave four minutes earlier at 5:23 and 6:23 a.m., arriving at Gore Park at 5:48 and 6:48 a.m. The buses that currently leave Upper Horning Loop at 5:56 and 6:46 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leave two minutes earlier at 5:54 and 6:44 a.m., arriving at Gore Park at 6:18 and 7:08 a.m.

25 Upper Wentworth

Starting Monday, March 30, the two first northbound trips that currently leave Lime Ridge Terminal start their trips six minutes earlier from Upper Wellington Street and Rymal Road East. The buses leave Upper Wellington and Rymal East at 5:11 and 5:31 a.m. Mondays to Fridays, leave Lime Ridge at their current schedule times of 5:17 and 5:37 a.m. and arrive at Gore Park at their current schedule times of 5:48 and 6:08 a.m.

18 Waterdown

GO Transit recently adjusted the schedule of eastbound trains operating through Aldershot GO Station along the 01 Lakeshore West route. As a result, the HSR is adjusting the 18 Waterdown schedule to help passengers wanting to transfer from the bus to the train leaving Aldershot at 7:32 a.m. Mondays to Fridays.

Starting Monday, March 30, the northbound bus that currently leaves Aldershot GO Station at 6:55 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves six minutes earlier at 6:49 a.m. The southbound bus that currently leaves Parkside Drive and Keewaydin Street at 7:15 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves six minutes earlier at 7:09 a.m. The bus returns to Aldershot Station at 7:28 a.m.
