Starting Monday, March 30, the Region of York starts a major construction project to widen Bathurst Street between Regional Highway 9 (Davis Drive West) and Mulock Drive West from a two- to a four-lane roadway.
Although York Region Transit has not currently scheduled detours, the work may delay buses operating on the 420 Newmarket High School via Savage and 53 Woodspring - Clearmeadow routes. Passengers should plan extra time for all trips along those routes, until the project ends this fall.
As the project proceeds, the Region may close the intersection of Bathurst Street and Sykes Road. YRT will announce route detours when that occurs.
