Test PRESTO cards at Union Station today and tomorrow

If you’re traveling through Union Station today, Thursday, April 16 or tomorrow, Friday, April 17, you may be able to test the new PRESTO fare cards.

GO Transit and PRESTO invite you to test and evaluate the new Greater Toronto Area and Hamilton fare cards and give them your feedback.

You can speak with PRESTO representatives in the Union GO concourse from 8 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. today, and from 8 a.m. until noon on Friday. You’ll see them near the Bay Street entrance by the Customer Service Centre.

When the PRESTO system is fully working, passengers will be able to “load” funds from a bank or credit card account onto a PRESTO card and travel on all GTA and Hamilton transit systems until they spend all the funds they loaded onto the card. Then, they can reload the cards with money and travel some more. Eventually, you’ll swipe the cards across card readers as you enter rapid transit and commuter train stations, buses and streetcars.
