Barrie Transit introduces new route, April 27



Barrie Transit is introducing a new bus route to offer transit service to a growing area of South Barrie, starting Monday, April 27

Buses operate every 45 minutes along the new 37 Veteran’s route Mondays to Fridays from 7 a.m. until 6:15 p.m. and Saturdays from 7:45 a.m. until 6:15 p.m.

Southbound buses start their trips at Allandale Recreation Centre, then proceed:

westward along Little Avenue;
northward along Fairview Road;
southwestward along Essa Road;
southward along Veteran’s Drive;
eastward along Commerce Park Drive to the southern intersection with Byrne Drive; and then
northward along Byrne to the northern intersection with Commerce Park.

Northbound buses start their trips at Byrne Drive and its northern intersection with Commerce Park Drive, then proceed:

east-, south- and westward along Commerce Park;
northward along Veteran’s Drive;
northeastward along Essa Road;
southward along Fairview Road; and then
eastward along Little Avenue to Allandale Recreation Centre.

(Note that the schedule and map information disagree. The schedule indicates that buses operating on the new route serve a stop at Mapleview Drive East and Bayview Drive, while the schedules do not.)
