More TTC buses with bike racks, starting May 10



When the TTC introduces its latest service changes on Sunday, May 10, it will also introduce 17 more routes that operate with buses that carry bike racks. After Sunday, the TTC will operate buses with bike racks on 92 routes.

The TTC will equip all buses operating on these routes with bike racks starting Sunday:

17 Birchmount
25 Don Mills
303 Don Mills overnight
34 Eglinton East
305 Eglinton East overnight
100 Flemingdon Park
169 Huntingwood
54 Lawrence East
354 Lawrence East overnight
57 Midland
116 Morningside
67 Pharmacy
167 Pharmacy North
86 Scarborough
224 Victoria Park North
68 Warden
320 Yonge overnight

All TTC buses will have bike racks by the end of 2010.

You can easily load and unload your bike from the bike racks. Each rack can hold two bikes and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. You pay your regular fare, but your bike rides for free.

This is the third announcement about bikes and buses since April 22, Earth Day. On April 25, GO Transit announced that it had equipped all of its buses with bike racks. On April 29, Brampton Transit announced the same news about its buses.
