The City of Mississauga is closing many streets throughout the city this weekend to accommodate the 2009 Mississauga Marathon.
Although the race takes place on Sunday, the City is closing some streets on Saturday, too, to help organizers set up the course.
GO Transit and Mississauga Transit are detouring buses before and during the event.
The event affects these routes:
GO Transit — 21 Milton.
Mississauga Transit — 1 Dundas; 3 Bloor; 6 Credit Woodlands - Westdale; 8 Cawthra - Indian Road; 19 Hurontario; 23 Lakeshore; 26 Burnhamthorpe; 28 Confederation; 38 Creditview; 45 Winston Churchill; 61 Mavis; and 110 University.
GO Transit
21 Milton
(GO Transit has confirmed the detour.)
From 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. Sunday, May 10, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Rathburn Road West and Duke of York Boulevard, then proceed:
northward along Duke of York;
eastward along Centre View Drive;
southward along Station Gate Road;
westward along Rathburn Road West;
southward along City Centre Drive;
eastward along Square One Drive to Hurontario Street,
resuming their regular route southward along Hurontario.Northbound buses reverse this routing.
GO buses do not operate along Robert Speck Parkway West, City Centre Drive, south of Robert Speck, and Duke of York Boulevard, south of Rathburn Road West.
Mississauga Transit
3 Bloor
From 7 a.m. Sunday, May 10 until Marathon participants clear the streets, eastbound buses start their trips at the Mississauga City Centre Terminal at Square One, as usual, then proceed:
eastward along Rathburn Roads West and East;
southward along Shipp Drive;
westward along Robert Speck Parkway East; and then
southward along Hurontario Street to Central Parkway,
resuming their regular route eastward along Central Parkway East.Westbound buses reverse this route.
Mississauga Transit buses do not operate along Webb Drive, Kariya Gate or City Centre Drive while the Marathon is taking place. Buses on the 6 Credit Woodlands — Westdale route replace the regular 3 Bloor service along Central Parkway West while the Marathon is taking place.

26 Burnhamthorpe
From 7 a.m. Sunday, May 10 until Marathon participants have cleared the streets, eastbound buses start their trips at South Common Terminal, then proceed:
eastward along The Collegeway;
northward along Erin Mills Parkway;
eastward along Eglinton Avenue West;
southward along Creditview Road;
eastward along Rathburn Road West to the City Centre Terminal; then
continue eastward along Rathburn Roads West and East;
southward along Shipp Drive; and then
east- and southward along Robert Speck Parkway East to Burnhamthorpe,
resuming their regular route eastbound along Burnhamthorpe Road East.Westbound buses operate along their regular route to Burnhamthorpe and Hurontario Street, then detour:

From 5 until 7 p.m. Saturday, May 9, eastbound buses operate from Clarkson GO Station:

northward along Ann Street;
westward along Queen Street East to Port Credit GO Station; then
continue westward along Queen;

From 7 a.m. Sunday, May 10 until Marathon participants clear the streets, Mississauga Transit will operate the route in two sections.
Some eastbound buses start their trips from Vega Boulevard and Dundas Street West, as usual, and proceed:
northward along Vega;
eastward along Laird Road;
southward along Winston Churchill Boulevard;
eastward along Dundas;
northward along Erin Mills Parkway; and then
west- and northward along South Millway West;
northward into South Common Terminal.Westbound buses operating on this section start their trips at South Common Mall, then proceed:

From 7 a.m. Sunday, May 10 until Marathon participants clear the streets, southbound buses operate along their regular route to the City Centre Terminal, then detour:
eastward along Rathburn Roads West and East;
southward along Shipp Drive; and then
westward along Robert Speck Parkway East to Hurontario Street,
resuming their regular route southward along Hurontario.Northbound buses reverse this routing.

All westbound buses start their trips at Long Branch Loop and proceed along their regular route to Port Credit GO Station, where they end their trips.
Mississauga Transit buses do operate along Lakeshore Road West between Southdown Road and Elizabeth Street on Sunday, May 10 while the Marathon is taking place.

From 7 a.m. Sunday, May 10 until Marathon participants have cleared the streets, southbound buses operate along their regular route to the City Centre Terminal, then proceed:
