The Town of Whitby is closing Jeffrey Street between Dundas Street West and Michael Boulevard for a project to rebuild the bridge (.pdf) over West Lynde Creek.
Durham Region Transit is detouring buses during the project.

From Monday, May 11 until Friday, July 31, inbound buses operate along their regular route to McQuay Boulevard and Dundas Street West (Regional Highway 2), then detour:
eastward along Dundas;
southward along Bell Drive;
westward along Michael Boulevard to Jeffrey Street,
resuming their regular route west- and southward along Michael.Outbound buses operate along their regular route to Michael Boulevard and Jeffrey Street, then detour:
east- and southward along Michael;
eastward along Jermyn Street;
northward along Annes Street; and then
westward along Dundas Street West to MacQuay Boulevard,
resuming their regular route northward along MacQuay.
Inbound buses operate toward Whitby GO Station.
Outbound buses operate away from Whitby GO Station.
