Major Mackenzie construction may affect YRT buses

Update — November 26: Construction has ended and regular transit services have resumed.

Starting Wednesday, June 10, the Region of York starts a major construction project to widen Major Mackenzie Drive East between Kennedy Road and Woodbine Avenue from a two- to a four-lane roadway.

Although York Region Transit has not currently scheduled detours, the work may delay buses operating on the 18 Bur Oak, 4A Major Mackenzie and 224B Woodbine Ave routes. Passengers should plan extra time for all trips along those routes, until the project ends next month. The project may also affect service along the TTC’s 224D Victoria Park North and 68 Warden routes.
