Weekend events affect transit services, June 12, 13, 14



Special events in Aurora, Richmond Hill and Toronto affect transit services this weekend .


The events affect these routes:

Toronto Transit Commission65 Parliament, 72A Pape via Commissioners, 172 Cherry St, 300 Bloor - Danforth overnight.

York Region TransitViva blue; 98 Yonge North.


The Friday, June 12 event affecting transit services is: Woofstock.

The Saturday, June 13 events affecting transit services are: the Heritage Village Festival; and Woofstock.

The Sunday, June 14 events affecting transit services are: Festival on Bloor; Woofstock; and the Yonge Street Festival.


Aurora


Yonge Street Festival

The Region of York and the Town of Aurora are closing

  • Yonge Street between Wellington Street and Murray Drive

on Sunday morning and afternoon to accommodate the Aurora Chamber of Commerce’s 14th annual street festival.

York Region Transit is detouring buses during the event.

Viva blue
98 Yonge North

(YRT has not confirmed the detours. this post describes how it detoured buses last year during the event.)

From 9:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, southbound buses operate along their regular routes to Yonge and Wellington Streets, then detour:

eastward along Wellington Street East; and then
south- and westward along Industrial Parkway to Yonge,
resuming their regular route, southward along Yonge.

Northbound buses reverse this routing.

The Heritage Village Festival also affects service along the Viva blue route on Sunday, June 14.


Richmond Hill


Heritage Village Day

The The Region of York and the Town of Richmond Hill are closing

  • Yonge Street between Crosby Avenue and Major Mackenzie Drive

on Saturday to accommodate the annual Heritage Village Day festival.

York Region Transit is detouring buses during the event.

89A Trench

From 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Crosby and Pugsley Avenues, then detour:

westward along Crosby;
northward along Yonge Street;
westward along Benson Avenue; and then
southward along Hall Street to Mill Street,
resuming their regular route westward along Mill.

Northbound buses reverse this routing.

Viva blue

From 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Yonge Street and Elgin Mills Road, then detour:

westward along Elgin Mills;
southward along Newkirk Road; and then
eastward along Major Mackenzie Drive to Yonge,
resuming their regular route southward along Yonge.

Northbound buses reverse this routing.

The Yonge Street Festival also affects service along this route on Sunday, June 14.

99 Yonge South

From 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Yonge Street and Crosby Avenue, then detour:

eastward along Crosby;
southward along Pugsley Avenue; and then
westward along Major Mackenzie Drive to Yonge Street,
resuming their regular route southward along Yonge.

Northbound buses reverse this routing.


Toronto


Toronto events affecting transit services include: Festival on Bloor (June 14); and Woofstock (June 12, 13 and 14).


Festival on Bloor

The City of Toronto is closing

  • Bloor Street West from Bathurst Street to Spadina Road

on Sunday morning and afternoon

to accommodate the Miles Nadel Jewish Community Centre’s annual street festival.

The event affects TTC service.

300 Bloor - Danforth overnight

From 7:30 until about 9 a.m. on Sunday, June 14, eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Bloor Street West and Bathurst Street, then detour:

northward along Bathurst;
eastward along Dupont Street; and then
southward along Spadina Road to Bloor West,
resuming their regular route eastward along Bloor.

Westbound buses reverse the detour routing.


Woofstock

The City of Toronto is closing

  • **Front Street East between Jarvis and Yonge Streets,
  • Scott Street between Wellington and Front Streets East

and other streets near St. Lawrence Market on Friday evening and all day Saturday and Sunday to accommodate the outdoor festival for dogs.

The TTC is detouring buses during the event.

172 Cherry St

Westbound buses operate along their regular route.

After 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 13 and Sunday, June 14, eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Front and Yonge Streets, then detour:

southward along Yonge; and then
eastward along The Esplanade to Scott Street,
resuming their regular route eastward along The Esplanade.

72A Pape via Commissioners

Westbound buses operate along their regular route.

After 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 12, eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Front and Yonge Streets, then detour:

southward along Yonge; and then
eastward along The Esplanade to Scott Street,
resuming their regular route eastward along The Esplanade.

65 Parliament

Westbound buses operate along their regular route.

Before 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Front and Yonge Streets, then detour:

southward along Yonge; and then
eastward along The Esplanade to Scott Street,
resuming their regular route eastward along The Esplanade.
