Revised a current route

950 Port Perry / UOIT

Starting Monday, June 29, DRT revised the route.

Buses now start their trips at Toronto Street South (Regional Highway 47) and Parratt Road, instead of the WalMart in Uxbridge.

South- and eastbound buses proceed:

northeastward along Toronto South;
into the Uxbridge WalMart;
northeastward along Toronto South;
eastward along Brock Streets West and East;
southward along Franklin Street;
eastward along Reach Street (Regional Road 8);
southward along Old Simcoe Road;
eastward along Paxton Street;
southward along Rosa Street;
westward along McDonald Street;
northward along Old Simcoe;
eastward along Reach;
southeastward along Perry Street;

Northbound buses reverse this routing, except that buses do not serve the stop at the Uxbridge WalMart.

By changing the route, DRT introduces transit service along:

  • Toronto Street South, between WalMart and Parratt Road;
  • Reach Street between Old Simcoe Road and Simcoe Street;
  • Rosa Street, McDonald Street and Old Simcoe Road between McDonald and Paxton; (This on-street loop serves passengers traveling to and from Port Perry High School.)
  • Union and Major Streets; (DRT detoured buses along these streets last year when construction closed parts of King Street.)
  • Simcoe Street between Reach and Perry Streets and between Major Street and Greenway Boulevard.

By changing the route, DRT removes transit service from:

  • Paxton Street between Rosa and Perry Streets;
  • King Street between Union Street and Perryview Drive;
  • Perryview Drive and Greenway Boulevard.

Although the DRT media release about the service changes announces that the route serves the Manchester area at the junction of Provincial Highways 7, 7A and 12, in fact, the buses are not operating to Manchester along the revised route.

DRT also decreased service along the route.
