August holiday service



Update — August 1, 3:12 p.m.: Guelph Transit is operating on a holiday schedule on Monday, August 3, although it had previously announced that it would not provide service on the holiday.


You may call it Civic Holiday or Simcoe Day — if you live in Guelph you may even call it “John Galt Day” — whatever you call it, you’re probably getting a holiday next Monday, August 3. Transit agencies throughout the Greater Toronto Area, Hamilton and the Golden Horseshoe are adjusting their service and schedules.

Barrie Transit — Sunday service, 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. (Note that this may be the first time that Barrie Transit has operated buses during a statutory holiday.)

B.A.C.T.S. (Barrie Accessible Community Transit Service) — No service.

Brampton Transit — Sunday / holiday schedules.

Burlington Transit — Sunday service, 9:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. (Sunday service = regular bus service along routes 1 Fairview - Plains, 2 Brant, 3 Guelph, 6 Headon Forest, 10 New - Maple, 12 Upper Middle and 16 Burloak plus dial-a-ride service on routes 11 Applebyand 15 Walkers).

Burlington Transit Handi-Van — Sunday service, 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

D.A.R.T.S. (Disabled Accessible Regional Transit Service) [Hamilton] — Holiday service, 9:30 a.m. until 11 p.m.

Durham Region Transit

  • Ajax, Clarington, Pickering, Oshawa and Whitby — Holiday schedules.
  • Brock, Scugog and UxbridgeNo service.

DRT Specialized Services — Holiday service, 8 a.m. until 10 p.m., book trips by Thursday, July 30.

St. Catharines Transit Commission — Evening, weekend and holiday schedules.

Toronto Transit Commission — Holiday schedules: Buses and streetcars operate on their Sunday service schedules, but start earlier than on Sundays at about 6 a.m. Subway starts at 6 a.m.

TTC Wheel-Trans — Weekend and holiday service, 7 a.m. until 12:30 a.m.
