Part 1 -- GO revises routes and services, September 5



GO Transit is introducing two new routes to Niagara Falls and Peterborough, resuming its extra services to universities and colleges and making other changes, starting Saturday, September 5.


The changes affect these routes: 12 Stoney Creek - Burlington; 12 Niagara Falls - Burlington; 12A Grimsby - Burlington; 19C Square One - Finch; 29 U of Guelph - Cooksville; 33C U of Guelph - Brampton; 45A Square One - York U; 46 Oakville - York U; 47 Hamilton - York U; 47A McMaster - Bramalea; 47B McMaster - Square One express; 47D Bramalea - York U; 47E McMaster - Oakville; 48 U of Guelph - York U; 48A Meadowvale - York U express; 48B Meadowvale - York U; 50 U of T Scarborough - Centennial College - Unionville; 51A Scarborough - York U express; 51B Pickering - York U express; 52 Oshawa - York U; 54 Mount Joy - York U; 54A Unionville - York U express; 54B Centennial - York U; 60 Wonderland - York Mills express; 88 Peterborough - Oshawa; 93 Durham College / UOIT - Scarborough.

Introducing new routes

12A Grimsby - Burlington

Starting Saturday, September 5, GO extends the current 12 Stoney Creek - Burlington route to Grimsby, St. Catharines and Niagara Falls. Buses operate along two routes - the main 12 Niagara Falls - Burlington route and this short-turn route, starting Tuesday, September 8.

Westbound buses leave the site of the future Grimsby “Park and Ride” carpool lot near the Queen Elizabeth Way and Casablanca Boulevard at 4:35 and 5:35 a.m. and 3:35, 5:10 and 8:35 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. the Stoney Creek “Park and Ride” carpool lot at Barton Street East and Nash Road North in Hamilton, ending their trips at the Burlington GO Station. They arrive in Burlington at 5:05 and 6:05 a.m. and 4:05, 5:40 and 9:05 p.m. Mondays to Fridays.

Eastbound buses leave the Burlington GO Station at 8:56 a.m. and 4:34, 7:08 and 9:44 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and 1:44 a.m. Tuesdays to Saturdays. They operate to the Stoney Creek “Park and Ride” carpool lot at Barton Street East and Nash Road North in Hamilton ending their trips at the site of the future Grimsby “Park and Ride” carpool lot near the Queen Elizabeth Way and Casablanca Boulevard. They arrive in Grimsby at 9:18 a.m. and 4:56, 7:30 and 10:06 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and 2:06 a.m. Tuesdays to Saturdays.

The Grimsby “Park and Ride” carpool lot will likely open in mid- to late-September.

GO also operates one bus along a late-evening express 12C Union - Niagara Falls route, leaving Union Station in Toronto at 10:30 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, operating without stopping until the St. Catharines VIA Rail Station at 11:40 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays and arriving at the Niagara Falls VIA Rail Station at 12:05 a.m. Sundays, Mondays and days after statutory holidays.

GO continues to operate trains along the 07 Niagara Falls line on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays until Thanksgiving, Monday, October 12.

12 Niagara Falls - Burlington

Starting Saturday, September 5, GO extends the current 12 Stoney Creek - Burlington route to Grimsby, St. Catharines and Niagara Falls. Buses operate between the Niagara Falls VIA Rail Station and Burlington GO Station seven days a week.

Starting Saturday, September 5, westbound buses leave the Niagara Falls VIA Rail Station at 7:55 and 11:55 a.m. and 1:55, 3:55, 5:55 and 9:50 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. They operate to Fairview Mall in St. Catharines, the site of the future Grimsby “Park and Ride” carpool lot near the Queen Elizabeth Way and Casablanca Boulevard and the Stoney Creek “Park and Ride” carpool lot at Barton Street East and Nash Road North in Hamilton, ending their trips at the Burlington GO Station. They arrive in Burlington at 9:05 a.m. and 1:05, 3:05, 5:05, 7:05 and 11 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

Eastbound buses leave Burlington GO Station at 9:44 a.m. and 1:54, 3:54, 5:54, 7:54 and 11:54 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. They operate to the Stoney Creek “Park and Ride” carpool lot at Barton Street East and Nash Road North in Hamilton, the site of the future Grimsby “Park and Ride” carpool lot near the Queen Elizabeth Way and Casablanca Boulevard and Fairview Mall in St. Catharines, ending their trips at the Niagara Falls VIA Station. Buses arrive in Niagara Falls at 10:50 a.m. and 2:50, 4:50, 6:50 and 8:50 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays and 12:50 a.m. Sundays, Mondays and the days following statutory holidays.

Starting Tuesday, September 8, westbound buses leave the Niagara Falls VIA Rail Station at 5:35, 6:05, 6:55, 7:55, 8:55 and 10:55 a.m. and 12:55, 2:05, 3:25, 4:55; 5:55 and 9:50 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. They operate to the Fairview Mall in St. Catharines, the site of the future Grimsby “Park and Ride” carpool lot near the Queen Elizabeth Way and Casablanca Boulevard and the Stoney Creek “Park and Ride” carpool lot at Barton Street East and Nash Road North in Hamilton, ending their trips at the Burlington GO Station. They arrive in Burlington at 6:45, 7:15, 8:05, 9:05 and 10:05 a.m. and 12:05, 2:05, 3:15, 4:35, 6:05, 7:05, 9:05 and 11 p.m. Mondays to Fridays.

Eastbound buses leave Burlington GO Station at 7:11, 7:51, 9:47 and 11:44 a.m. and 1:44, 2:44, 3:44; 5:04, 5:56, 6:28, 7:44 and 11:44 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. They operate to the Stoney Creek “Park and Ride” carpool lot at Barton Street East and Nash Road North in Hamilton, the site of the future Grimsby “Park and Ride” carpool lot near the Queen Elizabeth Way and Casablanca Boulevard and Fairview Mall in St. Catharines, ending their trips at the Niagara Falls VIA Station. Buses arrive in Niagara Falls at 8:17, 8:57 and 10:53 a.m. and 12:50, 2:50, 3:50, 4:50, 6:10, 7:02, 7:34 and 8:50 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and 12:30 a.m. Tuesdays to Saturdays.

The Grimsby “Park and Ride” carpool lot will likely open in mid- to late-September.

GO also operates buses along the short-turn 12A Grimsby - Burlington route. 88 Peterborough - Oshawa

Starting Saturday, September 5, GO buses operate between Trent University in Peterborough and Oshawa GO Station seven days a week.

Starting Saturday, September 5, southbound buses leave Peter Gzowski College at Trent University at 6:10 and 9:10 a.m. and 12:10, 3:10, 6:10 and 10:10 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. They operate to the Downtown Peterborough Bus Terminal on Simcoe Street west of George Street North, the Peterborough South “Park and Ride” at Crawford and Harper Streets, just north of Highways 7 and 115 and the Cavan - Millbrook “Park and Ride” carpool lot on Peterborough County Road 10, north of Highway 115, ending their trips at Oshawa GO Station. They arrive in Oshawa at 7:30, and 10:30 a.m. and 1:30, 4:30, 7:30 and 11:30 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

Northbound buses leave Oshawa GO Station at 8:13 and 11:13 a.m. and 2:13, 5:13 and 8:13 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays and 12:13 a.m. Sundays, Mondays and days following statutory holidays. They operate to the Cavan - Millbrook “Park and Ride” carpool lot on Peterborough County Road 10, north of Highway 115, the Peterborough South “Park and Ride” at Harper and Crawford Streets and the Downtown Peterborough Bus Terminal on Simcoe Street, west of George Street North, ending their trips at Trent University’s Peter Gzowski College. They arrive at Trent at 9:28 a.m. and 12:28, 3:28, 6:28 and 9:28 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays and 1:28 a.m. Sundays, Mondays and days following statutory holidays.

Starting Tuesday, September 8, southbound buses leave Peter Gzowski College at Trent University at 5:20, 6:25, 7:10, 9:10 and 11:10 a.m. and 1, 2:50, 4:10, 6:10 and 10:10 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. They operate to the Downtown Peterborough Bus Terminal on Simcoe Street west of George Street North, the Peterborough South “Park and Ride” at Crawford and Harper Streets, just north of Highways 7 and 115 and the Cavan - Millbrook “Park and Ride” carpool lot on Peterborough County Road 10, north of Highway 115, ending their trips at Oshawa GO Station. They arrive in Oshawa at 6:40, 7:45, 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. and 12:30, 2:20, 4:10, 5:30, 7:30 and 11:30 p.m. Mondays to Fridays.

Northbound buses leave Oshawa GO Station at 7:13, 8:28 and 10:13 a.m. and 12:13, 2:13, 4:16, 5:15, 6:19 and 8:13 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and 12:13 a.m. Tuesdays to Saturdays. They operate to the Cavan - Millbrook “Park and Ride” carpool lot on Peterborough County Road 10, north of Highway 115, the Peterborough South “Park and Ride” at Harper and Crawford Streets and the Downtown Peterborough Bus Terminal on Simcoe Street, west of George Street North, ending their trips at Trent University’s Peter Gzowski College. They arrive at Trent at 8:28, 9:43 and 11:28 a.m. and 1:28, 3:28, 5:31, 6:30, 7:34 and 9:28 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and 1:28 a.m. Tuesdays to Saturdays.

Extending current routes

48B Meadowvale - York U

Starting Tuesday, September 5, five eastbound trips start further west. They operate along the 48 U of Guelph - York U route, but serve all stops at the same time as they do currently.

12 Stoney Creek - Burlington

Friday, September 4 is the last day that GO buses operate just between the Stoney Creek “Park and Ride” carpool lot and Burlington GO Station. Starting Saturday, September 5, GO is extending the route further east to Grimsby, St. Catharines and Niagara Falls along the 12 Niagara Falls - Burlington route. Starting Tuesday, September 8, a short-turn route operates: 12A Grimsby - Burlington.

48 U of Guelph - York U

Starting Tuesday, September 8, GO five eastbound buses that currently operate along the 48B Meadowvale - York U route start their trips further west at the University of Guelph. All buses serve all stops at the same time as they do currently.


Introducing new service to colleges and universities

54 Centennial - York U

Starting Tuesday, September 8, GO introduces extra service along this route for the 2009 - 2010 academic term.

A westbound bus leaves Centennial GO Station at 7:25 a.m. It operates to Unionville GO Station, then operates without stopping until the Harry W. Arthurs Common at York University’s Keele Campus. It arrives at York at 8 a.m.

88 Peterborough - Oshawa

Starting Saturday, September 5, GO buses operate to and from Trent University. All buses operating along the route start and end their trips at Trent’s Peter Gzowski College in the north end of Peterborough.

Increasing extra service to colleges and universities

47B McMaster - York U express

Starting Tuesday, September 8, GO buses operate one more eastbound express trip Mondays to Fridays and, starting Friday, September 11, two more eastbound express trips on Fridays only than it did during the 2008 - 2009 academic term.

52 Oshawa - York U

Starting Tuesday, September 8, GO buses operate three more trips in each direction.

51B Pickering - York U

Starting Tuesday, September 8, GO buses operate more trips in each direction than it did during the 2008 - 2009 academic term.

45A Square One - York U

Starting Tuesday, September 8, GO operates more trips in each direction Mondays to Fridays than it did during the 2008 - 2009 academic term. Seven more eastbound buses leave the Mississauga City Centre at Square One. Two more westbound buses leave Harry W. Arthurs Common at York University’s Keele Campus.

48 U of Guelph - York U

Starting Tuesday, September 8, GO operates two more trips in each direction and also extends five trips in each direction that currently operate along the 48B Meadowvale - York U route to start and end their trips at the University of Guelph.
