The TTC / City of Toronto “City on the Move: Young Artists in Transit” program spotlights visual artists, photographers, dancers, singers and other performers until summer 2010.
On Saturday, September 5, Rated X performs at Downsview Station from 2 until 2:15 p.m., at Wilson Station from 2:30 until 2:45 p.m., at Eglinton West Station from 3 until 3:15 p.m., at Spadina Station from 3:30 until 3:45 p.m. and at Dundas Station from 4 until 4:15 p.m. The group performs again on Friday, September 11 from 7 until 7:30 p.m. at Downsview Station, 7:50 until 8:20 p.m. at Spadina Station and Dundas Station from 8:40 until 9:10 p.m.
On Saturday, September 12, Diana Viselli performs at Downsview Station from 1 until 1:15 p.m., at Eglinton West Station from 1:45 until 2 p.m. and at Spadina Station from 2:30 until 2:45 p.m.
On Sunday, September 13, Tova Kardonne performs at Kipling Station from noon until 12:15 p.m., at Islington Station from 12:25 until 12:40 p.m., at Royal York Station from 12:50 until 1:10 p.m. and at Spadina Station from 1:30 until 1:45 p.m. Tova performs again on Sunday, September 20 at Kipling Station from noon until 12:15 p.m., at Islington Station from 12:25 until 12:40 p.m., at Royal York Station from 12:50 until 1:10 p.m. and at Spadina Station from 1:30 until 1:45 p.m. Tova appears for the third time this month on Sunday, September 27 at Kipling Station from noon until 12:15 p.m., at Islington Station from 12:25 until 12:40 p.m., at Royal York Station from 12:50 until 1:10 p.m. and at Spadina Station from 1:30 until 1:45 p.m.
On Monday, September 14, rad performs at St. Clair West Station from 1 until 1:20 p.m. The group performs again on Monday, September 21 at Eglinton West Station from 1 until 1:20 p.m. It appears for the third time this month on Monday, September 28 at Downsview Station from 1 until 1:20 p.m.
On Tuesday, September 15, Ania Soul makes a tour of the TTC while performing. She performs at Ossington Station from 1 until 1:30 p.m., then continues performing while riding a car along the 2 Bloor - Danforth subway to Spadina Station from 1:30 until 1:40 p.m. Her performance continues aboard a southbound 510 Spadina streetcar from 1:45 until 2 p.m. At Spadina Avenue and King Street West, she transfers her performance to an eastbound 504 King streetcar from 2 until 2:10 p.m. Finally, she finishes her performance on the northbound platform of King Station from 2:15 until 2:45 p.m.
On Saturday, September 19, Moon Runners perform at Downsview Station from 1 until 1:30 p.m., at Spadina Station from 1:45 until 2:15 p.m. and at Dundas Station from 2:30 until 3 p.m.
On Saturday, September 26, Lady Noyz and guests perform at Kipling Station from noon until 12:30 p.m., at Spadina Station from 1 until 1:30 p.m. and at Finch Station from 2 until 2:30 p.m.
Until Wednesday, September 23, Ayesha Stewart (.pdf) displays her photo exhibit, “Faceless and Nameless”, in the lower level of Don Mills Station near the escalator leading to and from the bus terminal. Ayesha’s exhibit moves to Scarborough Centre station on Wednesday, September 30, where it remains until Wednesday, October 28.
Until Thursday, September 24, TTC passengers can view Xiaojing Yan’s installation, “Mutation”, in the bus terminal level of Kennedy Station.
