The TTC resumes its regular fall service, starting Sunday, September 6. It’s also starting to restore service to the same level that it provided passengers earlier this year. Since February, a critical shortage of buses forced the TTC to cut back many bus services.

Buses operating along the 72A branch proceed westward along Commissioners Street and then northward along Cherry Street, instead of proceeding to Cherry Beach. Buses operating toward Pape Station proceed southward along Cherry and then eastward along Commissioners instead of proceeding to Cherry Beach.

Starting Sunday, September 6, the TTC decreases the frequency of service late evenings after 10 p.m. seven days a week from every 15 minutes to every 26 minutes.

Starting Sunday, September 6, buses operate along on the first part of the new York University busway, between Murray Ross Parkway and York Boulevard.
Before noon every day, southbound buses operate along their current route.
After noon, southbound buses start their trips at the Harry W. Arthurs Common at York University’s Keele Campus, then proceed:
eastward along York Boulevard;
southward along the busway; and then
eastward along Murray Ross Parkway to Keele Street,
resuming their regular route southward along Keele.Southbound buses serve a new bus stop on Murray Ross at the busway.
Before noon every day, northbound buses operate along their regular route to Keele Street and Murray Ross Parkway, then proceed:
westward along Murray Ross;
northward along the busway; and then
westward along York Boulevard to the Harry W. Arthurs Common at York University’s Keele Campus,
ending their trips.Northbound buses serve a new bus stop on Murray Ross at the busway.
Buses serving passengers traveling along this route no longer operate along Keele Street between Murray Ross Parkway and York Boulevard and along York Boulevard between Keele Street and the busway.
The full busway, which includes a new east-west bus-only road in the hydro corridor north of Finch Avenue, and a new bus entrance / exit at the south end of Downsview Station, opens later in 2009.

38 Highland Creek
Starting Tuesday, September 8, the TTC resumes the 38A branch between the University of Toronto’s Scarborough Campus and Scarborough Centre Station Mondays to Fridays before 7 p.m.
Four buses operate along the 38A branch every 15 minutes during morning rush hours, every 10 minutes from about 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. and every 12 minutes during afternoon rush hours. Buses operating along the main 38 branch continue to serve the Scarborough Campus. Buses operating on both branches together serve stops between the campus and Scarborough Centre Station every 7 minutes during morning rush hours, every 5 minutes from about 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. and every 6 minutes during afternoon rush hours.

Starting Tuesday, September 8, the TTC increases the frequency of service. It operates three more buses along the route during Monday-to-Friday morning rush hours and until 10:30 a.m. Mondays to Fridays to increase the frequency from every 6 minutes to every 2 minutes 15 seconds to every 2 minutes. It operates one more bus along the route Monday-to-Friday mornings after 10:30 a.m. to increase the frequency from every 6 minutes to every 2 minutes 15 seconds to every 2 minutes.
It operates three more buses along the route Monday-to-Friday afternoons to increase the frequency from every 2&12; minutes to every 2 minutes 15 seconds. It operates one more bus along the route during Monday-to-Friday afternoon rush hours to increase the frequency of service from every 2 minutes 45 seconds to every 2 minutes 20 seconds.
Operating more buses Mondays to Fridays restores service to the levels that the TTC operated along the route earlier this year. On February 15, a shortage of buses forced it to decrease service.
Starting Saturday, September 12, the TTC operates service later Saturday evenings (early Sunday mornings.) Buses leave Downsview Station every 15 minutes until 2:15 a.m. Sundays.
