GO's Barrie trains delayed during afternoon rush hour yesterday



According to CP 24 news, GO Transit rerouted service on th 61 Barrie line after a train struck and killed a pedestrian during the afternoon rush hour yesterday, Wednesday, September 9.

The train fatally hit a woman in her thirties at about 4:40 p.m. near Lawrence Avenue West and Caledonia Road. Police say are treating the case as an accident.

GO temporarily suspended train service while Toronto Police Services officers investigated the incident. Eventually, GO rerouted trains between Union and Rutherford stations and operated shuttle buses for passengers traveling between York University and Rutherford Station.

The incident delayed passengers by as much as an hour throughout the evening. Service on the line is operating normally today.

A pedestrian incident earlier yesterday morning near Bronte GO Station disrupted service along the 01 Lakeshore West line.
