The 2009 fair takes place at the new fairgrounds, south of Wilson Street West (City Highway 2) on Trinity Road.

This year, the Hamilton Street Railway is operating free shuttle bus service from the Meadowlands Terminal to the fair.

Georgian College is closing various roadways on its Barrie Campus to accommodate the Canadian Automotive Institute’s annual Georgian College Auto Show on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

With the HSR’s Ticket to Ride program, you can ride free of fare to Ivor Wynne Stadium for as much as three hours before game time and free of fare from the stadium until the end of service.

Tiger-Cats Express shuttles

The City is closing the eastbound off ramps at Jameson Avenue, York Street / Bay Street / Yonge Street and Lower Jarvis Street. It’s also closing the eastbound on-ramp from Lower Jarvis.

For westbound traffic, it’s closing the off-ramps to Lower Jarvis, Yonge, Bay and York Streets. The off-ramp to Lower Sherbourne Street is open, but Lake Shore Boulevard East is closed. The off- and on-ramps to and from Lower Spadina Avenue are open, but Lake Shore Boulevard West is closed.

GO Transit and the TTC are detouring transit services during the event.

GO Transit

Since the City is closing Bay Street completely to traffic south of Front Street West from 7 until 9 a.m. on Sunday, September 27, GO buses cannot operate to or from the Union Station GO Bus Terminal. GO is setting up a temporary terminal on the south side of Bremner Boulevard, just west of York Street during these hours.

To help passengers, GO is also:

• installing signs at the Union Station GO Bus Terminal, the Union Station GO Concourse and the Air Canada Centre, directing passengers to and from the temporary terminal;
• assigning bus operations staff to the temporary terminal on Bremner Boulevard and customer care co-ordinators to Union Station GO Bus Terminal to help direct passengers to and from buses.
• assigning extra station operations staff to help passengers;
• asking drivers to make public address announcements to inform passengers about the temporary terminal and re-inforce that fact that GO is resuming service to the Union Station GO Bus Terminal at 9 a.m.

31 Guelph - Georgetown - Union

From 7 until 9 a.m. on Sunday, September 27, eastbound buses operate along their regular routes to the Frederick G. Gardiner Expressway and the Spadina off-ramp, then proceed:

eastward along the off-ramp;
northward along Lower Spadina Avenue; and then
eastward along Bremner Boulevard to the termporary terminal just west of York Street,
ending their trips.

Westbound buses start their trips at Bremner Boulevard and York Street, then proceed:

eastward along Bremner Boulevard;
southward along York Street to the on-ramp to the Frederick G. Gardiner Expressway,

From 7 until 9 a.m. on Sunday, September 27, eastbound buses operate along their regular routes to the Frederick G. Gardiner Expressway and the Spadina off-ramp, then proceed:

eastward along the off-ramp;
northward along Lower Spadina Avenue; and then
eastward along Bremner Boulevard to the termporary terminal just west of York Street,

31 Greenwood

From about 9:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 27, all buses start and end their trips at Greenwood Avenue and Queen Street East. Buses do not operate along the 31B branch to the Canada Post facility on Eastern Avenue.

509 Harbourfront

From 6 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Sunday, September 27, eastbound streetcars follow their regular route to Fleet and Bathurst Streets, then detour:

northward along Bathurst;
eastward along King Street West; and then
southward along Spadina and Lower Spadina Avenues to Queens Quay West,
resuming their regular route eastward along Queens Quay.

Westbound cars reverse this routing.

The Queens Quay shuttle bus replaces the regular 509 Harbourfront service along Queens Quay West between Bathurst Street and Lower Spadina Avenue.

504 King

From about 7:15 a.m. until 3 p.m., the TTC is splitting the route into two and operating shuttle buses between Bathurst Street and University Avenue.

For the west end of the route, eastbound streetcars operate along their regular route to King Street West and Spadina Avenue, then detour:

northward along Spadina;
eastward along Adelaide Street West; and then
southward along Charlotte Street to King West,
ending their trips.

Westbound cars start their trip on Charlotte Street at King Street West, then proceed along their regular route westward along King West.

For the east end of the route westbound streetcars operate along their regular route to King Street East and Church Street, then detour:

northward along Church;
westward along Richmond Street East; and then
southward along Victoria Street to Adelaide Street East,
ending their trips.

Eastbound cars start their trips on Victoria Street at Adelaide Street East, then proceed:

Westbound buses that would usually operate to Union Station start their trips on Berkeley Street at Adelaide Street East, then proceed:

eastward along Adelaide East;
southward along Parliament Street;
westward along King Street East;
southward along Berkeley Street;
westward along the Esplanade;
southward along Lower Jarvis Street;
westward along Lake Shore Boulevard East; and then
northward along Yonge Street to the Esplanade,
ending their trips.

The TTC is also detouring buses operating along the main 72 Pape route that usually serve stops between Pape Station and Eastern Avenue.

65 Parliament

From about 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 27, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Parliament Street and King Street East, ending their trips.

Northbound buses start their trips on Parliament Street at King Street East, then proceed:

westward along King East;
northward along Berkeley Street;
eastward along Adelaide Street East to Parliament,
resuming their regular route northward along Parliament.

The TTC is also detouring buses operating along the main 72 branch between Pape Station and Queen Street East.

501 Queen

From about 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Sunday, September 27, the TTC is diverting the route and operating shuttle buses between Bathurst Street and University Avenue.

Eastbound streetcars operate along their regular route to Queen Street West and McCaul Street, then detour:

northward along McCaul;
eastward along Dundas Streets West and East;
southward along Victoria Street;
eastward along Queen Street East; and then
northeastward along Kingston Road to the Kingston Road / Queen loop,
ending their trips inside the loop.

After 1 p.m., eastbound streetcars operate eastward along Queen Street East from Victoria Street to Neville loop, where they end their trips.

Westbound cars start their trips in the Kingston Road / Queen loop, then proceed:

westward along Queen Street East;
northward along Victoria Street;
westward along Dundas Streets East and West; and then
southward along McCaul Street to Queen Street West,
resuming their regular route westward along Queen West.

After 1 p.m., westbound cars start their trips at Neville loop, then proceed westward along Queen Street East to Victoria Street.

501 Queen shuttle

From about 7 a.m. until 3 p.m., buses replace regular 501 Queen streetcar service between Bathurst Street and University Avenue.

Eastbound buses start their trips at Wolseley Loop on Bathurst Street, just north of Queen Street West, then proceed:

southward along Bathurst;
eastward along Queen West;
southward along University Avenue;
eastward along Adelaide Street West; and then
northward along York Street to Queen,
ending their trips.

Westbound buses start their trips on York Street, south of Queen Street West, then proceed:

northward along York;
westward along Queen West; and then
northward along Bathurst Street to Wolseley Loop,
ending their trips.

Queens Quay shuttle

From 7 a.m. until 1 p.m., on Sunday, September 27, the TTC is operating shuttle bus service along Queens Quays East and West between Parliament and Bathurst Streets.

Westbound buses start their trips on Queens Quay East at Parliament Street, then proceed:

westward along Queens Quays East and West to Bathurst Street, ending their trips.

Eastbound buses start their trips at Queens Quay West and Bathurst Street, then proceed:

northward along Lower Spadina;
eastward along Lake Shore Boulevard West;
southward along Rees Street;
eastward along Queens Quays West and East;
northward along Small Street; and then
eastward along Lake Shore Boulevard East to Parliament Street,
ending their trips.

The shuttle bus replaces regular 6 Bay service along Queens Quays West and East between Bay and Lower Jarvis Streets, regular 509 Harbourfront service along Queens Quay West between Bathurst Street and Lower Spadina Avenue and regular 75 Sherbourne service along Queens Quay East between Lower Sherbourne and Lower Jarvis Streets.

80 Queensway

From about 9:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Sunday, September 27, the TTC is splitting the route.

For the west end of route, eastbound buses operate along their regular route to the Queensway and the entrance to Humber Loop, then proceed:

eastward into Humber Loop, ending their trips.

Westbound buses start their trips at Humber Loop, then proceed along their regular route westward along the Queensway.

If passengers want to reach destinations further east along the regular 80 Queensway route, they should ask for paper transfers when they pay their fares and transfer to an eastbound 501 Queen streetcar at Humber Loop. Leave the car at Parkside Drive and walk north to Garden Avenue. The TTC is setting up a temporary walking transfer point at Parkside and Garden.

For the east end of the route along Parkside Drive, the TTC is operating one Wheel-Trans bus because streets near the Queensway and Parkside are too narrow for regular buses.

The southbound bus starts its trips at Keele Station, then proceeds:

southward along Keele Street and Parkside Drive to Garden Avenue,
ending their trips.

The northbound bus starts its trips at Parkside Drive and Garden Avenue, then proceeds:

eastward along Garden;
northward along Indian Road; and then
westward along Algonquin Avenue to Parkside Drive,
resuming its regular route northward along Parkside.

The TTC is setting up a temporary walking transfer point at Parkside and Garden. If passengers want to reach destinations further west along the regular 80 Queensway route, they should ask for paper transfers when they pay their fares and walk to the Queensway overpass across Parkside Drive to transfer to westbound 501 Queen streetcars, then transfer again to 80 Queensway buses at Humber Loop.

75 Sherbourne

From about 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Sunday September 28, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Sherbourne Street and Adelaide Street East, then detour:

eastward along Adelaide East;
southward along Princess Street to King Street East,
ending their trips.

Northbound buses start their trips on Princess Street at King Street East, then proceed:

westward along King East to Sherbourne Street,
resuming their regular route northward along Sherbourne.

The Queens Quay shuttle bus replaces regular 75 Sherbourne service along Queens Quay East between Lower Jarvis and Lower Sherbourne Streets.

510 Spadina

Streetcars operate along their regular route.

92 Woodbine South

From about 9 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Sunday September 27, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Woodbine Avenue and Kingston Road, then detour:

southwestward along Kingston to the Kingston Road / Queen streetcar loop, entering the loop and ending their trips.

Northbound buses start their trips in Kingston Road / Queen streetcar loop, then proceed:

westward along Queen Street East; and then
northeastward along Kingston Road to Woodbine Avenue,
resuming their regular route northbound along Woodbine.

320 Yonge overnight

From about 7 until 9 a.m. on Sunday, September 28, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Yonge and Adelaide Streets, then detour:

eastward along Adelaide Street East; and then
southward along Church Street to King Street East, ending their trips.

Northbound buses start their trips on Church Street at King Street East, then proceed:

westward along King East to Yonge Street,
resuming their regular route northward along Yonge.
