GO train service to Niagara Falls ends October 12

Thanksgiving, Monday, October 12 is the last day this year that GO Transit offers service along its 07 Niagara Falls - Union route on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

Niagara-bound trains pick up passengers at Union, Port Credit, Oakville and Burlington GO Stations and drop them off at the St. Catharines or Niagara Falls VIA Rail Stations.

Toronto-bound trains pick up passengers at the Niagara Falls and St. Catharines VIA Rail Stations and drop them off at Burlington, Oakville, Port Credit and Union GO Stations.

This was the first time that GO operated trains outside of its service area. Train service to and from Niagara Falls started on Saturday, June 27.

Thanksgiving is also the last day for two connecting transit services in Niagara Region.

The St. Catharines Transit Commission’s GO shuttle buses ends for this year after October 12. (The shuttle buses carry passengers between the SCTC’s Downtown Transit Terminal, Brock University and the GO trains at the VIA station in West St. Catharines.)

In Niagara Falls, Niagara Transit is ending its Falls Shuttle (.pdf) service until next spring.

Even though these services are ending, you can still get to Niagara Falls by transit. And, once you’re there, you still have ways to get around through the fall, winter and spring.
