Aurora bridge construction delays GO trains,
starting October 13

Starting Tuesday, October 13, the project to replace the bridge carrying the tracks of the Canadian National Railways’ Newmarket Subdivision across Yonge Street may delay GO Transit trains operating along the 65 Barrie line.

The project to improve track conditions on the bridge near Industrial Parkway South, just south of the Aurora GO Station, requires trains to reduce speed before crossing the bridge. Reducing the speed may delay passengers’ trips by as much as five minutes.

This weekend, the project closed Yonge Street at the bridge and York Region Transit has been detouring buses around the area. Yonge Street re-opens on Tuesday, October 13.

The project continues until the end of October.
