Buses detour during police investigation at York University

Update — 2:10 p.m.: The police investigation revealed that the suspicious package was not a threat and regular bus service has resumed.

GO Transit, TTC and York Region Transit buses are all detouring near York University because of a Toronto Police Service investigation on campus. The Police are investigating a suspicious package at the Schulich School of Business.

GO buses operating along the 48 Guelph - York U, 47 Hamilton - York U, 46 Oakville - York U, 51 Pickering - York U, 52 Oshawa - York U, 54 Mount Joy - York U and 66 Newmarket - York U routes are starting and ending their trips on York Boulevard at James Gillies Street, just west of Keele Street.

The TTC has announced that all buses operating along its 41 Keele, 60 Steeles West, 106 York University, 107 Keele North and 196 York University Rocket routes are not currently serving the campus. Some readers suggest that perhaps the buses are detouring along Steeles Avenue West, Petrolia Road and Canartic Drive.

YRT has not yet announced detours.
