Developing more facilities to help cyclists use public transit more often is a goal of the Metrolinx regional transportation plan, “The Big Move”.

Burlington Transit and the Hamilton Street Railway had already equipped all buses in their fleets with bicycle racks in 2006 before this program began.

GO Transit installed bike racks on all its buses on April 25.

Buses with bike racks serve 128 of the TTC’s 146 bus routes.

Oakville Transit has installed bike racks on more than 50 of its buses.

Mississauga Transit installed bike racks on all its buses on June 22, 2009.
