Old Weston Road / St. Clair construction
affects bus service again this weekend



The City of Toronto and the TTC are again closing parts of the intersection of Old Weston Road and St. Clair Avenue West this weekend.

They are closing Old Weston Road to all through traffic north of St. Clair West to continue their work in removing streetcar tracks from the roadway and from nearby Townsley Loop. (Work inside the loop started earlier this week on Monday, November 9.

The TTC is detouring buses operating along the 41 Keele, 127 Davenport and 168 Symington routes during the project.

127 Davenport

Starting Monday, November 9, eastbound buses start their trips on Old Weston Road at St. Clair Avenue West, then proceed:

eastward along St. Clair West; and
southward along Ford Street to Davenport Road,
resuming their regular route eastward along St. Clair.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stops at Townsley Loop, on Old Weston Road at St. Clair Avenue West and on Davenport Road, just east of Old Weston.

Westbound buses operate along their regular route to Old Weston Road and St. Clair Avenue West, ending their trips.

41 Keele

From 7 p.m. on Friday, November 13 until 7 a.m. on Monday, November 16, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Keele Street and Rogers Road, then detour:

westward along Rogers; and then
southward along Weston Road and Keele Street to St. Clair Avenue West,
resuming their regular route southward along Keele.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops on Rogers Road east of Keele Street and opposite Scott Road and on Old Weston Road south of Rogers and at Lavender Road, Turnberry Avenue, opposite Rockwell Avenue and at St. Clair Avenue West.

Northbound buses operate along their regular route to Keele Street and St. Clair Avenue West, then detour:

northward along Keele and Weston Road; and then
eastward along Rogers Road to Keele,
resuming their regular route northward along Keele.

Northbound buses skip their regular stops on Old Weston Road north of St. Clair Avenue West and at Rockwell, Turnberry and Kane Avenues and Rogers Road and on Rogers at Scott Road.

Buses operate along their regular routes through the construction zone.

168 Symington

From 7 p.m. on Friday, November 13 until 7 a.m. on Monday, November 16, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Rogers and Old Weston Roads, then detour:

eastward along
southward along Caledonia and Caledonia Park Roads; and then
westward along Davenport Road to Symington Avenue,
resuming their regular route southward along Symington.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops on Old Weston Road south of Rogers Road and at Lavender Road, Turnberry Avenue, opposite Rockwell Avenue and at St. Clair Avenue Westjust south of St. Clair West and on Davenport Road just east of Old Weston.

Northbound buses operate along their regular route to Symington Avenue and Davenport Road, then detour:

eastward along Davenport;
northward along Caledonia Park Road; and then
westward along St. Clair Avenue West to Old Weston Road,
resuming their regular route northward along Old Weston Road.

Northbound buses skip their regular stop on Davenport Road at Old Weston Road.


Construction at Townsley Loop and at Old Weston Road and St. Clair Avenue West is part of the ongoing project to replace the streetcar tracks along St. Clair West. You can read more about the project here and here. You can learn more about this weekend’s work here. (.pdf)

The City and TTC previously closed parts of the intersection during the weekends of August 21 to 24, September 11 to 15 and October 16 to 20.
