Guelph Transit revises Waverley Drive detour,
starting November 18

The City of Guelph is expanding its current project to rebuild Waverley Drive between Knightswood Boulevard and Stevenson Street North to include the intersection of Waverley and Stevenson North tomorrow, Wednesday, November 18 until Friday, November 27.

Guelph Transit is also expanding its current detour for buses operating along the 8 General Hospital route during the work.

8 General Hospital

Starting Wednesday, November 18, buses operate along their regular route to Speedvale Avenue East and Knightswood Boulevard, then detour:

westward along Speedvale East;
northward along Stevenson Street North;
westward along Kensington Street to Metcalfe Street; and then
resuming their regular route southward along Metcalfe.

Buses skip their regular stops

  • on Knightswood Boulevard north of Speedvale Avenue East, opposite Cathcart Street and at Waverley Drive,
  • on Waverley Drive at Stevenson Street North and
  • on Metcalfe Street south of Waverley Drive.

Instead, buses drop off and pick up passengers at a temporary stop on Metcalfe Street, south of Kensington Street.

The City started work on this project, and Guelph Transit started detouring buses, on Monday, November 15.
