More detours for Guelph Transit buses
around Waverley Drive construction, starting November 26

The City of Guelph is revising its current project to rebuild Waverley Drive. The City is reopening the intersection of Waverley and Stevenson Street North today, Wednesday, November 26, but continues to close Waverley between Knightswood Boulevard and Stevenson North.

Guelph Transit is also revising its current detour for buses operating along the 8 General Hospital route during this phase of the work.

8 General Hospital

Starting Wednesday, November 26, buses operate along their regular route to Knightswood Boulevard and Cathcart Street, then detour:

northward along Knightswood;
westward along Cathcart Street; and then
northward along Stevenson Street North to Waverley,
resuming their regular route westward along Metcalfe.

Buses skip their regular stops

  • on Knightswood Boulevard opposite Cathcart Street and at Waverley Drive and
  • on Waverley Drive opposite Stevenson Street North.

Buses no longer drop off and pick up passengers at the temporary stop on Metcalfe Street, south of Kensington Street.

The City started work on this project, and Guelph Transit started detouring buses, on Monday, November 15.

The City expanded the construction zone, and Guelph Transit expanded the detour on Wednesday, November 18.
