"City on the Move" features performers and artists
in TTC stations this month



The TTC / City of Toronto City on the Move: A Festival of Young Artists in Transit program spotlights visual artists, photographers, dancers, singers and other performers until summer 2010.

A breakdancing extravaganza enlivens Finch Station on today, Friday, December 4 from noon until 3 p.m. Supernaturalz — they say they’re “Canada’s illest B-boy crew” — perform.

Starting Tuesday, December 8, Adrian Farrow, Jim Mezei and Kellen Hatanaka move Transport, their works on the theme of transportation and how it affects human existence, from Main Street Station to Bathurst Station. A reception at the new venue takes place from 1 until 1:30 p.m., and they’ll continue their exhibit until Tuesday, January 5, 2010.

Las Mujeres, an exhibit at Spadina Station, features Juan David Gavira’s paintings, reflecting women’s emotional experiences. Starting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 19, the works are on display until Thursday, December 17. Juan moves the exhibit to Bay Station on Friday, December 18, with an opening reception from 1 until 1:30 p.m. The exhibit remains at Bay until Friday, January 15, 2010.
