Mississauga to set up transit-only lanes on Rathburn Road

The City of Mississauga is starting the process to establish transit-only lanes along Rathburn Roads East and West near the City Centre Terminal at Square One.

The City intends to modify the roadway between Duke of York Boulevard to east of Hurontarion Street from its current design with four lanes and left-turn lanes to two centre median lanes only for buses and two lanes for general traffic.

The project includes: building median busway platforms and widening to allow secondary bus-only lanes at the intersection of Rathburn and Station Gate Roads and realigning the ramp from southbound Hurontario Street to westbound Rathburn.

The project is part of the Mississauga Bus Rapid Transit plan.
