Revising current routes

2A 14th Avenue

Starting Sunday, December 20, YRT revises the route to serve the community of Grand Cornell.

Westbound buses operate along their current route.

Eastbound buses operate along their current route to Ninth Line and Kenilworth Gate, then proceed:

eastward along Kenilworth; and then
northward along Stoney Stanton Road to Highway 7,
resuming their regular route eastward along Highway 7.

(YRT is only temporarily rerouting the buses along Stoney Stanton Road. Eventually, when the Town of Markham has built the roadway, buses will operate eastward along Kenilworth to Bur Oak Avenue, then proceed northward along Bur Oak to Highway 7, resuming their current route northward along Bur Oak.)

YRT is also adjusting the schedule of the route.

90 Leslie South

Starting Sunday, December 20, YRT is revising the route to reduce delays and improve travel times. Buses operating along the route no longer divert into the Seneca College Newnham Campus bus loop on Finch Avenue — all buses remain on Don Mills Road. (YRT has been detouring the buses away from Seneca College since construction started on the loop on Monday, October 21 — it’s now making that detour permanent. Buses also no longer operate into the parking lot of The Shops on Steeles and 404.

YRT hasn’t posted a new navigator on its website.

203 Milliken GO shuttle

Starting Monday, December 21, YRT revises the route.

Westbound buses operate along their former route to 14th Avenue and Boxwood Crescent, then proceed:

westward along 14th;
southward along Markham Road;
eastward along Denison Avenue;
south- and westward along Elson Drive;
southward along Eastvale Drive;
westward along Steeles Avenue East; and then
northward along Markham Road to Elson Street;
resuming their current route eastward along Elson.

Buses no longer serve stops along Boxwood Crescent, Roxbury Street, Chatelaine Drive or Elson Street between Eastvale Drive and Markham Road.

Buses now serve all stops along 14th Avenue between Legacy Drive and Markham Road and Eastvale Drive between Elson Street and Steeles Avenue East.

YRT is also adjusting the schedule of the route.

45 Mingay

Starting Monday, December 21, YRT is revising the route so that buses operate along the north section of Raymerville Drive, instead of the south section.

Southbound buses operate along their current route to Stone Mason Drive and Raymerville Drive, then proceed:

westward along Raymerville Drive; and then
southward along McCowan Road to Carlton Road / Raymerville Drive (south),
resuming their current route southward along McCowan.

Buses operating along the 41 Markham local route continue to serve passengers along the southern portion of Raymerville Drive.

33A Wellington

Starting Monday, December 21, YRT diverts one Monday-to-Friday morning and one Monday-to-Friday afternoon trip to St. John’s Sideroad and Pinnacle Trail / Gateway Drive to accommodate students travelling to Aurora High School.

The southbound buses that leave Hollidge Boulevard and Bayview Avenue at 7:27 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. Mondays to Fridays, operate along their regular route to Bayview Avenue at the Superstore, then proceed:

northward along Bayview;
westward along St. John’s Sideroad; and then
southward along Gateway Drive to Pederson Drive,
resuming their regular route southward along Gateway.

Starting Monday, December 20, YRT operates one more trip to Seneca College’s King Campus. The bus that leaves Finch GO Bus Terminal at 10:07 p.m. Mondays to Fridays continues beyond the Elgin West Community Centre to the college, arriving at 10:47 p.m.

Starting Monday, December 21, YRT no longer operates the southbound bus that formerly left Jefferson Forest Drive and Arden Valley Street at 7:40 a.m. Few passengers were riding on this bus.

Starting Monday, December 20, YRT is adjusting the schedule for several for Monday-to-Friday westbound trips to better accommodate high school bell times. The westbound bus that formerly left Markham Stouffville Hospital at 7:40 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves two minutes earlier at 7:38 a.m. The westbound bus that formerly left the hospital at 7:45 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves five minutes earlier at 7:40 a.m.

5 Clark

Starting Monday, December 21, YRT is adjusting the schedule to help passengers travel from St. Elizabeth Catholic High School. The eastbound bus that currently leaves Dufferin Street and Glen Shields Avenue at 2:18 p.m. leaves five minutes later at 2:23 p.m. This bus arrives at New Westminster Drive at about 2:32 p.m.

56 Eagle - Gorham

Starting Monday, December 20, YRT is adjusting the schedule for two westbound buses Monday-to-Friday afternoons to accommodate passengers traveling from Sacred Heart Catholic High School students.

The bus that leaves the 404 Town Centre at 2:25 p.m. Mondays to Fridays, diverts to Sacred Heart, arriving at the school at 2:47 p.m. The bus then returns to its regular routing, arriving at the Newmarket GO Bus Terminal at 3 p.m.

The bus that leaves the 404 Town Centre at 2:55 p.m. no longer diverts to Sacred Heart.

Starting Monday, December 21, buses operating along the route no longer drop off or pick up passengers at stop #9799 at Yonge Street and Henderson Drive. Passengers now board at bus stop #1157 at Yonge Street and Allaura Boulevard.

Starting Monday, December 21, YRT adjusts the schedule for eastbound buses leaving the Finch GO Bus Terminal Monday-to-Friday mornings. It’s adjusting the schedule of the eastbound bus that leaves the terminal at 7 a.m. so that the bus may arrive at most stops along the route slightly earlier or later than it did formerly. The eastbound bus that formerly left the terminal at 9 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves five minutes later at 9:05 a.m.

Starting Monday, December 21, YRT adjusts the schedule so that all eastbound buses leave Old Kennedy Road and Steeles Avenue East two minutes later than formerly.

Starting Monday, December 21, YRT is adjusting the schedule to help passengers connect with GO Transit trains operating along the 71 Stouffville line at Centennial GO Station.

The southbound bus that formerly left Mingay Avenue at Major Mackenzie Drive East at 8:05 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves five minutes earlier at 8 a.m. The bus that formerly left Major Mackenzie at 5:28 p.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves three minutes earlier at 5:25 p.m. The bus that formerly left Major Mackenzie at 6:15 p.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves ten minutes earlier at 6:05 p.m. The bus that formerly left Major Mackenzie at 7:08 p.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves three minutes earlier at 7:05 p.m. The bus that currently leaves Major Mackenzie at 7:50 p.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves five minutes earlier at 7:45 p.m.

The southbound buses leaving Mingay Avenue at Major Mackenzie Drive East at 6:05 and 6:43 a.m. both connect with GO trains.

The northbound bus that formerly left Markville Mall at 7:45 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves five minutes earlier at 7:40 a.m. The bus that formerly left Markville at 5:08 p.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves three minutes later at 5:05 p.m. The bus that formerly left Markville at 5:55 p.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves ten minutes earlier at 5:45 p.m. The bus that formerly left Markville at 6:48 p.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves three minutes earlier at 6:45 p.m. The bus that formerly left Markville at 7:30p.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves five minutes earlier at 7:25 p.m.

The northbound buses leaving Markville at 5:05, 5:45, 6:45 and 7:25 p.m. all connect with GO trains.

9 9th Line

Starting Monday, December 21, YRT is adjusting the times that buses arrive at and leave Markham Stouffville Hospital, Parkview Village and Millard Street at Ninth Line.

589 Richmond Hill community bus

Starting Monday, December 21, YRT resumes service to 15 Baif Boulevard. It’s also increasing the frequency of service to 20, 40, 50 and 70 Baif Boulevard from every two hours to every hour in both directions.

85A Rutherford / 16th Avenue

Starting Monday, December 21, YRT adjusts the schedule of the route to help passengers connect with GO Transit trains operating along the 65 Barrie line at Rutherford Station.

The westbound bus that formerly left Yonge Street and 16th Avenue at 9:20 a.m. four minutes earlier at 9:16 a.m. The westbound bus that leaves Yonge at 2:07 p.m. leaves five minutes later at 2:12 p.m. The westbound bus that leaves Yonge Street at 6:17 p.m. leaves eight minutes later at 6:25 p.m.

YRT is also adjusting the eastbound schedule Mondays to Fridays during afternoon rush hours to accommodate passengers traveling to or from Napa Valley Avenue. The buses that formerly left Rutherford Road and Napa Valley Avenue at 5:25, 5:55 and 6:25 p.m. Mondays to Fridays now leave at 5:11, 5:41 and 6:15 p.m.

40 Unionville local

Starting Monday, December 21, YRT is adjusting the schedule so that the westbound bus that formerly left Markville Mall at 6:45 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves three minutes later at 6:48 a.m.

Starting Monday, December 21, YRT adjusts the schedule so that the first three northbound buses Mondays to Fridays leave Finch GO Bus Terminal four to five minutes earlier to help passengers connect with GO Transit trains operating along the 71 Stouffville line at Unionville GO Station.

The eastbound buses that formerly left Finch at 6:30, 6:58 and 7:37 a.m. Mondays to Firdays now leave at 6:25, 6:54 and 7:32 a.m. Instead of arriving at Unionville GO Station at 7:08, 7:40 and 8:15 a.m. Mondays to Fridays, they arrive at 7:03, 7:35 and 7:10 a.m.

86 Weldrick - Newkirk

Starting Monday, December 21, GO is adjusting the schedule to improve passenger connections to GO Transit trains operating along the 61 Richmond Hill line at Richmond Hill GO Station.

YRT is also decreasing service along the route.

Starting Monday, December 21, YRT is making minor adjustments to the Monday-to-Friday schedules.

Buses now pick up and drop off passengers at a new stop in the Green Lane Centre shopping plaza in Newmarket, on Yonge Street south of Green Lane.
