Guelph Transit is increasing the cost of cash fares from $2.50 to $2.75, starting Monday, February 1.
The cost of “adult” tickets — for passengers 64 years of age or younger, who are not attending an elementary or secondary school in Guelph — increases from 10 for $22 to 10 to $23. The cost of adult monthly passes goes up to $72 from $68.
(In Guelph, all transit passengers — students, adults and seniors — pay the same rate at the farebox, if they pay by cash. Each different class of passenger pays different prices when buying tickets or passes.)
GT does not refund the value of old tickets.
