Brampton Transit detours buses during downtown construction



The City of Brampton is closing

  • George Street North

this weekend for a road construction project.

Brampton Transit is detouring buses operating along the 1 Queen route during the work.

1 Queen

From 8 p.m. tomorrow, Friday, April 8 until 5 a.m. on Sunday, April 11, eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Queen Street West and Elizabeth Street, then detour:

northward along Elizabeth North; and then
westward along Nelson Street West to George Street North,
resuming their regular route northward along George North.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stop on George Street North, north of Diplock Lane.

Westbound buses operate along their regular route to the Downtown Brampton Terminal, then proceed:

westward along Nelson Street West to Elizabeth Street North; and then
southward along Elizabeth North to Queen Street West,
resuming their regular route westward along Queen West.

Westbound buses skip their regular stop on George Street North opposite Diplock Lane.

GO Transit has not announced detours, but passengers traveling on GO buses serving the 31 Guelph / Georgetown - Union route should expect detours or delays.
