On his website, Steve Munro comments on the province of Ontario’s recent cutbacks on funding to public transit projects, especially the Transit City light rail lines.
Steve also lets his readers know about several Facebook pages where they can participate in grassroots campaigns to “Save Transit City”
- Save Transit City;
- Friends of Scarborough LRT;
- Friends of the Eglinton LRT (This group held an event on March 30, but also ask you to sign an on-line petition.)
- I support an Eglinton Subway! (not an LRT)
A “Save Transit City” button will be available at events such as this afternoon’s town-hall meeting with members of Local 113 of the Amalgamated Transit Union.
The ttcriders.ca blog is sponsoring a letter-writing campaign to support Transit City. (Twitter here.)
To Steve’s list we also add:
- The Save Transit City “twibbon” — adding a “Save Transit City” ribbon graphic to your Twitter avatar.
