City cancels Gardiner repairs tonight

GO Transit bus passengers can enjoy a better trip to points west and northwest of Toronto this evening because the City of Toronto has canceled its plans to close the westbound expressway at Kipling Avenue.

Originally, it planned to continue work on resurfacing all westbound lanes of the expressway between Kipling Avenue and Highway 427. All traffic — including GO buses — would have had to exit from the expressway at Kipling Avenue from 9 p.m. tonight until 5 a.m. tomorrow morning.

The City plans to close much of the expressway this weekend, so it will make the repairs that it originally scheduled for tonight on Sunday.
