GO detours buses in Georgetown



The Town of Halton Hills has closed

  • Queen Street between King and Guelph Streets

during a project to rebuild the roadway.

GO Transit is detouring buses operating to and from Georgetown GO Station while Queen Street is closed.

Starting Monday, May 10, eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Guelph and Queen Streets, then detour:

eastward along Guelph (Highway 7);
northeastward along Maple Avenue;
northward along Mountainview Road North;
westward along King Street to the Georgetown GO Station; and then
northward into the GO Station.

After leaving the GO Station, buses proceed:

eastward along King Street;
southward along Mountainview Road North;
southwestward along Maple Avenue;
westward along Guelph Street to Queen Street,
resuming their regular route westward along Guelph.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stop on Guelph Street east of Maple Avenue. Instead, the drop off and pick up passengers at a temporary stop on Guelph east of Maple.

Westbound buses operate along their regular route to Guelph Street and Maple Avenue, then detour:

northeastward along Maple Avenue;
northward along Mountainview Road North;
westward along King Street to the Georgetown GO Station; and then
northward into the GO Station.

After leaving the GO Station, buses proceed:

eastward along King Street;
southward along Mountainview Road North;
southwestward along Maple Avenue;
westward along Guelph Street to Queen Street,
resuming their regular route westward along Guelph.

Westbound buses serve all regular stops.


Rebuilding Queen Street was part of the Town of Halton Hills’ 2010 capital works plan.
