TTC detours buses during Bloor Street paving tonight



The City of Toronto is closing

the intersections of Bloor Street West with

  • Avenue Road / Queen’s Park and
  • Bay Street

overnight tonight, Tuesday, September 28, while contractors repave Bloor.

The work is part of the long-standing City / Bloor - Yorkville Business Improvement Area project to upgrade Bloor Streets West and East between Avenue Road / Queen’s Park and Church

The TTC is detouring buses operating along the 5 Avenue Rd and 6 Bay routes while the work proceeds tonight.

5 Avenue Rd

From 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 28 until 5 a.m. on Wednesday, September 29, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Avenue Road and Lowther Avenue, then detour:

westward along Lowther;
southward along Bedford Road;
westward along Prince Arthur Avenue to St. George Station terminal; and then
southward into the terminal, ending their trips.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Avenue Road opposite Yorkville Avenue and at Bloor Street West,
  • on Queen’s Park at Museum Station,
  • on Queen’s Park Crescent West at Trinity College, Hart House and the University of Toronto Library and
  • on Queen’s Park East north of College Street.

Northbound buses start their trips at St. George Station, then proceed:

northward along Bedford Road; and then
eastward along Prince Arthur Avenue to Avenue Road,
resuming their regular route northward along Avenue Road.

Northbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Queen’s Park Crescent East north of College Street, at Wellesley Street West and north of St. Joseph Street,
  • on Queen’s Park at Museum Station (north of Charles Street West) and
  • on Avenue Road north of Bloor Street West.
6 Bay

From 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 28 until 5 a.m. on Wednesday, September 29, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Bay Street and Yorkville Avenue, then detour:

eastward along Yorkville;
southward along Yonge Street; and then
westward along Charles Street West to Bay,
resuming their regular route southward along Bay.

Southbound buses skip their regular stop

  • on Bay Street at Bay Station (just north of Bloor Street West).

Northbound buses operate along their regular route to Bay and St. Mary Street, then detour:

eastward along St. Mary,
northward along Yonge Street; and then
westward along Yorkville Avenue to Bay,
resuming their regular route northward along Bay.

Northbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Bay Street at Charles Street West, Bay Station (just north of Bloor Street West) and Yorkville Avenue.
