Richmond Hill trains end at Langstaff tonight

Passengers who usually ride GO Transit trains along the 61 Richmond Hill should plan to add extra time to their trips this evening, Monday, October 4.

GO and Canadian National Railways crews are working to repair the tracks after a GO train derailed between Richmond Hill and Langstaff GO Stations this morning; however, they won’t restore regular service tonight.

Extra GO and York Region Transit buses will carry passengers beyond Langstaff to Richmond Hill this evening.

After an earlier train derailed this morning, GO canceled the train that usually leaves Richmond Hill at 7:25 a.m. Also, the train that usually leaves Richmond Hill at 7:55 a.m., instead started its trip from Old Cummer GO Station and arrived in Union Station about 25 minutes behind schedule.

GO and YRT buses picked up passengers from Richmond Hill and Langstaff GO Stations and dropped them off at Finch GO Bus Terminal, where the passengers could connect with the TTC’s 1 Yonge - University - Spadina subway to continue their trips downtown.
