Subway service resumes between Eglinton and Bloor
after midnight, starting December 20

The TTC’s project to maintain the tunnels between Eglinton and Bloor - Yonge Stations has ended. Regular service along the Yonge branch of the 1 Yonge - University - Spadina subway resumes after midnight between the two stations, starting early Monday, December 20.

But don’t think this is the end of the ongoing project to maintain the tunnels — starting this Monday, work continues between Finch and Eglinton Stations. The TTC is replacing the subway with frequent, accessible buses every day, except Sundays, at 12:30 a.m.

The subway operates along its entire route between Downsview and Finch Stations early every Sunday. It will also operate along the entire route early Christmas, Saturday, December 25. Subway service along the entire route also continues until about 4 a.m. early New Year’s Day, Saturday, January 1, 2011.

The tunnel maintenance project started between Finch and Lawrence Stations on Sunday, June 22, 2008. The project expanded to include the section between Lawrence and Eglinton Stations on Monday, February 16, 2009.

Notices on platforms at TTC stations advise that the work continues through next year.
