You can look over the draft design for City of Hamilton’s east-west “B-Line” rapid transit project and a draft study of future land use along both the east-west “B-Line” and the north-south “A-Line” at a series of open houses taking place on Wednesday, January 19, Thursday, January 20, Tuesday, January 25 and Thursday, January 27.

The B-Line extends along Queenston Road, Main Street East, King Streets East and West and Main Street West between Eastgate Square and McMaster University. The A-Line extends along James and Upper James Streets between Hamilton’s waterfront and John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport .

The open houses take place:

  • Downtown West — Wednesday, January 19, Scottish Rite, 4 Queen Street South (at King Street West), from 6 until 8 p.m.

Getting there by transit:

  • 1A King (eastbound), 5 Delaware, 10 B-Line express (eastbound) or 51 University (eastbound) buses to Main Street West and Queen Street South, walk one block north; or
  • 1A King (westbound), 5B Main West, 5C West Hamilton, 10 B-Line express (westbound), 51 University (westbound) or 52 Dundas buses to King Street West and Queen Street; or
  • 34 Upper Paradise (southbound) buses to Queen Street South and Main Street West, walk one block north; or
  • 34 Upper Paradise (northbound) buses to Hess Street South and Hunter Street West, walk one block west and three blocks north.
  • West End — Thursday, January 20, Westdale Secondary School, 700 Main Street West (at Longwood Road South), from 6 until 8 p.m.

Getting there by transit:

  • 1A King (eastbound), 5 Delaware - Rosedale, 51 University (eastbound) buses to Longwood Road South and Main Street West; or
  • 5B Main West, 10 B-Line express, 52 Dundas buses to Main Street West and Longwood Road South; or
  • 1A King (westbound), 5C West Hamilton, 51 University buses to King Street West and Longwood Road, walk two blocks south.
  • Downtown East — Monday, January 24, Volunteer Hamilton, International Village Business Improvement Area, 267 King Street East (between Wellington Street North and Ferguson Avenue North) from 5 until 8 p.m.

Getting there by transit:

  • 1 King (westbound) buses to King Street East and Ferguson Avenue; or
  • 1 King (eastbound) and 5 Delaware buses to Main Street East and Ferguson Avenue South, walk one block north.
  • East End — Tuesday, January 25, Sir Winston Churchill Seconday School, 1715 Main Street East (about halfway between Strathearne and Parkdale Avenues), from 6 until 8 p.m.

Getting there by transit:

  • 1 King (eastbound) buses to Queenston Road and Walter Avenue South, walk one block north and two blocks east;
  • 1 King (westbound) buses to Queenston Road and Isabel Avenue, walk one block north;
  • 11 Parkdale buses to Parkdale Avenue and Main Street East, walk two blocks west.
  • Mountain — Thursday, January 27, Courtyard Marriott, 1224 Upper James Street, (south of the Lincoln M. Alexander Parkway — “the Linc”) from 6 until 8 p.m.

Getting there by transit:

  • 27 Upper James buses (southbound) to Blossom Lane, walk half block north.
  • 27 Upper James (northbound) buses to 1187 Upper James Street, walk half block north to signal at the “Linc”, cross Upper James, then walk one block south.
  • McMaster — Friday, January 28, Atrium, McMaster University Student Centre, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Getting there by transit:

  • 1A King, 5A Delaware - Rosedale, 5C West Hamilton, 51 **University buses to Sterling Street west of University Avenue.
  • Downtown Central — Thursday, March 3, The Right House, 35 King Street East (at Hughson Street North) from 4 until 6 p.m.

Getting there by transit:

All HSR buses traveling through downtown Hamilton stop within a block of the site.
