City closes Gardiner Expressway, GO buses detour tonight

The City of Toronto is closing

  • the eastbound lanes of the Frederick G. Gardiner Expressway between the Humber River and Dunn Avenue

from 11 p.m. tonight, Saturday, January 15 until 9 a.m. tomorrow, Sunday,January 16.

Workers continue the ongoing project to replace the bridges across the expressway at Jameson Avenue, while the Gardiner is closed.

GO Transit is detouring some buses operating to and from the Union Station GO Bus Terminal along Lake Shore Boulevard, instead of the Gardiner. However, buses serve all regular stops.

This post describes how GO has detoured buses on other occasions when the City has closed the Gardiner. However, GO Transit Control monitors road conditions and may direct bus drivers to detour along other streets, depending on traffic flow.
