TTC hosts public meetings on proposals to cut bus service,
January 24, 25, 26, 27



The TTC is hosting four public meetings to let members of the public comment on its proposals to decrease service along 48 bus routes late evenings and weekends.

The TTC plans to “re-allocate” service from routes with low ridership during certain times of the week to routes with a high number of passengers during rush hours. By cutting late-evening and weekend service, the TTC could free up “resources” — meaning drivers and buses — to increase service on busier routes and continue to serve an increasing number of passengers. (The TTC carried more passengers in 2010 than at any other time in its history.)

Monday, January 24

  • Access from Scarborough Centre Station on the 3 Scarborough rapid transit line; or
  • 9 Bellamy, 16 McCowan, 21 Brimley, 38 Highland Creek, 43B Kennedy via Progress, 129 McCowan North, 130 Middlefield, 131 Nugget, 132 Milner, 133 Neilson, 134 Progress, 169 Huntingwood, 190 Scarborough Centre rocket and 199 Finch rocket buses to Scarborough Centre Station.

Etobicoke

Thursday, January 27
From 7 until 9 p.m.

Getting there by transit:

  • 36 Finch West and 191 Highway 27 rocket buses to Finch Avenue West and Martin Grove Road, walk one block south, then one block east; or
  • 46 Martin Grove buses to Martin Grove Road and Finch Avenue West (southbound), walk one block south, then one block east; or
  • 46 Martin Grove buses (northbound) to Martin Grove and Rampart Roads, walk one block east.
