Find out more about "rapidway" construction in Newmarket,
open house, January 27

You can find out more about York Region’s project to build a “rapidway” or busway — meaning bus-only lanes — along Davis Drive East in Newmarket — at a public meeting next Thursday.

The future rapidway will accommodate rapid Viva buses between the Southlake Regional Health Centre and Yonge Street, as part of the VivaNext project.

You can drop in anytime to view presentations and displays or talk to York Region and VivaNext staff. The event takes place from 2 until 8 p.m. Thursday, January 27 at Bethel Christian Reform Church, 333 Davis Drive East (North side of Davis East, two blocks west of Main Street.)

Getting there by transit:

  • Ride eastbound York Region Transit buses operating along the 55 / 55B Davis Drive route to Lorne Street. Cross Davis Drive and then walk half a block east; or
  • Ride westbound York Region Transit buses operating along the 44 Bristol - London and 55 / 55B Davis Drive routes to the Vincent Street stop in front of the church.
