Niagara Falls buses detour during Ferry construction,
starting January 20



Update — Friday, May 20, 7 p.m.: Niagara Falls Transit resumes service along the Red falls shuttle route. Buses also detour off Ferry Street between Main Street and Stanley Avenue.


The Region of Niagara and the City of Niagara Falls are closing:

  • Ferry Street (Regional Road 20) between Stanley Avenue and Main Street

to install separate storm and sanitary sewers and rebuild the roadway.

Starting yesterday, Thursday, January 20, Niagara Falls Transit is detouring buses operating along the 2 Jubilee, 3 Westlane, 4 Jill and 5 Woodbine routes, while the roadway is closed.

Construction likely continues until mid-May.

2 Jubilee

Starting Thursday, January 20, inbound buses operate along their regular route to Main Street and Lundy’s Lane / Ferry Street, then detour:

northward along Main;
eastward along North Street; and then
southward along Stanley Avenue to Ferry Street,
resuming their regular route eastward along Ferry.

Outbound buses reverse the detour.

3 Westlane

Starting Thursday, January 20, inbound buses operate along their regular route to Lundy’s Lane and Main Street, then detour:

northward along Main;
eastward along North Street; and then
southward along Stanley Avenue to Ferry Street,
resuming their regular route eastward along Ferry.

Outbound buses operate along their regular route to Ferry Street and Stanley Avenue, then detour:

northward along Stanley;
westward along North Street; and then
southward along Main Street to Lundy’s Lane / Ferry Street,
resuming their regular route westward along Lundy’s Lane.

5 Woodbine

Mondays to Saturdays before 6:30 p.m. starting Thursday, January 20, inbound buses operate along their regular route to Lundy’s Lane and Main Street, then detour:

northward along Main;
eastward along North Street; and then
southward along Stanley Avenue to Ferry Street,
resuming their regular route eastward along Ferry.

Outbound buses operate along their regular route to Ferry Street and Stanley Avenue, then detour:

northward along Stanley;
westward along North Street; and then
southward along Main Street to Lundy’s Lane / Ferry Street,
resuming their regular route westward along Lundy’s Lane.

Mondays to Saturdays after 6:30 p.m. and all day Sundays and holidays, starting Thursday, January 20, inbound buses operate along their regular route to Main Street and Lundy’s Lane / Ferry Street, then detour:

northward along Main;
eastward along North Street; and then
southward along Stanley Avenue to Ferry Street,
resuming their regular route eastward along Ferry.

Outbound buses reverse the detour.


Inbound buses operate toward downtown.

Outbound buses operate away from downtown.
