TTC buses detour during emergency water-main repairs

Update — January 26, 5:51 p.m.: City workers have finished repairing the mains and have reopened Sherbourne Street. Regular bus and streetcar service has resumed.

TTC buses operating along the 75 Sherbourne route continue to detour around the area of Sherbourne Street and Queen Street East, while City of Toronto workers repair broken water mains.

Buses have been detouring off Sherbourne Street between Shuter Street and Adelaide Street East since early yesterday, Monday, January 24 and likely will continue to detour for a few more days.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Sherbourne Street at Queen Street East.

Northbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Sherbourne Street north of Adelaide Street East, at Queen Street East and Shuter Street.

When the main first burst, the flooding water briefly delayed streetcars operating along the TTC’s 501 Queen and 502 Downtowner routes. The emergency repair project is not likely to further disrupt streetcar service.
